Kids Talk Media

Meet Anabel + Brooke and learn about their favorite media on the podcast KIDS TALK MEDIA. These eight-year old best friends talk about the video games Animal Jam and Gymnastics Superstar, their Netflix app, the television reboot Fuller House, the graphic novel version of The Babysitters Club, the Lemonchello book series and the Japanese film, My Neighbor Totoro.

Meet Willa and Francesca, two seven year old friends who met when they were just in preschool. These girls are big fans of the television show Odd Squad on PBS, and they love Jessie and Bunk’d on Disney Channel. They are big Wonder Woman fans, and each owns at least one American Girl doll. But they are navigating their television shows and video games and favorite music mainly through Alexa, the virtual assistant from Amazon. We talked in their basement surrounded by toys, a life-sized stuffed animal bear—and Alexa - who tried to join us in our conversation at one point. Hope you enjoy meeting Willa and Francesca!

Meet Manny (age 11) and Brahin (age 12). They live in Philadelphia and go to public school. We sat in Manny’s kitchen while they talked about their favorite video games and apps, and how they feel about cliffhangers, memes, genres, and CGI. They talked about their love of anime, their frustration with parents and violent video games, how they see sexism in video games and movies. They also have very strong personal feelings about social media. Hope you enjoy!

Meet nine year old best pals Peyton and Annelise. We sat on the floor of Peyton’s bedroom and talked about the Baby Hazel Skin Care app, Kahoot, the Peter Rabbit movie, and of course, Harry Potter. Hope you enjoy the first episode of Kids Talk Media!
