On May 4, 2017 the meeting Inconvenient Truth took place at the Journey Museum in Rapid City SD. It was a packed room, all filled with people eager to learn the truth about the shady history Rapid City has with lands belonging to Sioux San.

The title says it all. "Inconvenient Truth". Rapid City has an untold or unaware history of institutional racism, amidst current race relation problems. This is the story of the Rapid City Indian Boarding School. We have a short summary, then a conversation with Kibbe Conti McGaa. She has a direct relation to the school and the Badland Bombing Range relocation event. Join us in this story as we uncover this uncomfortable history and ask the question, where do we go from here?

I caught Steven before he left the Rez. He was here promoting his most recent production "Neither Wolf Nor Dog". The film is based on the book "Neither Wolf Nor Dog" written by Kent Nurburn. The film showcases a awesome list of local and weathered Native actors. We talk about some of the dynamics involved with outside producers and directors working in Native Country. He also gives us some of the stories that reflect in the movie. Also, the passing of Dave Bald Eagle, one of the main characters in the movie.

Claire is working on her PHD here in the Black Hills area. Today we view her as a Canadian and immigrant? Her history tells of a tale when after the Battle of Greasy Grass(Battle of Little Big Horn)our ancestors ventured North and some of our relatives stayed there. She is a living testament of that history. She is here to learn and share her research of land, people and language.
