Publisher's Summary:
Could you retain your faith even if it meant losing your life? Your family's lives?
To many Christians in the Middle East today, a "momentary, light affliction" means enduring only torture instead of martyrdom. The depth of oppression Jesus' followers suffer is unimaginable to most Western Christians. Yet it is an everyday reality for those who choose faith over survival in Syria, Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, and other countries hostile to the Gospel of Christ.
In Killing Christians Tom Doyle takes listeners to the secret meetings, the torture rooms, the grim prisons, and even the executions that are the "calling" of countless Muslims turned Christians. All survivors long to share with brothers and sisters "on the outside" what Christ has taught them. Killing Christians is their message to listeners who still enjoy freedom to practice their faith. None would wish their pain and suffering on those who do not have to brave such misery, but the richness gained through their remarkable trials are delivered--often in their own words--through this audiobook. The stories are breathtaking, the lessons soul stirring and renewing. Killing Christians presents the dead-serious work of expanding and maintaining the faith.

Necessary for the heart
Stunning, breathtaking stories that display the majesty & beauty of Christ against the darkest of backdrops. You will love, weep, & pray fervently for each beautiful person whose story you hear. Books such as these are vital for us western Christians it is almost shameful how complacent & whiney we are, spoiled in our comforts, & often even self-centered in our very faith. These books serve to connect us heart and soul to our persecuted family & drive us to service & action. Every church in America should continually urge its members to make a steady reading diet of books and articles of the persecuted church.
Informative, encouraging & convicting
I loved this book. It was well put-together and gives a real sense of the very real people living in that part of the world. Very informative. I thought it might feel sensationalized but it didn't feel that way at all to me when I read it. While some of the things in it were difficult to hear, keeping our head in the sand does not help anyone...us or those in the 'battleground' of the Middle East. The battleground might one day be here in the U.S. (it already is to a small extent) and we need to be firm on where we stand. This book is great for helping give you that moral courage. These Christians are facing unimaginable trials, pain & death everyday and they consider themselves blessed because they know they are doing the Lord's work! We can all learn from these dedicated followers of our Lord Jesus Christ! God Bless!
Very moving
This book enlightened me to what our fellow believers are going through quickening my heart to pray for them. It also caused me to search my own heart. God is God through all things! Written very well and read very well.
