Kimberly Darr is a small town girl who couldn't wait to come home after graduating from Humboldt State. With a career well on its way in forestry, she surprised friends and family when she decided to go into real estate after buying her first home with her husband Shawn. Within 5 years she was a partner and in another 5 years the sole owner of Century 21 Wildwood Properties. She grew it from a small single office to over 5 offices, two vacation rental companies, a property management division and a commercial division. As a mother of two, Sinclair, a daughter born with Down Syndrome, and a son Spencer, a career in real estate allowed her the flexibility she desired. In 2015 she opened Swirlz, a yogurt shop that hired adults with intellectual disabilities, intent on providing a meaningful life for people of all abilities. COVID has brought many changes to Kimberly’s business model but she welcomes the opportunity to keep growing and operating with purpose.
