It is only by the hidden 'hands' of God's blessing that our own hands and hearts can be made full.

"Behold I am coming suddenly, and My reward is with me!" Rev. 22:12. True believers are totally forgiven of all sin – past present and future. But every work of ours as Christians will be "judged". There are two kinds of judgments: criminal punishment and performance reward.

The church keeps a calendar. We mark time from a grave that would not stay shut, and we mark time toward a day that has a name. Scripture does not leave that day unnamed; it calls it the Day of the Lord—sometimes simply "the day" or "that day,". This lesson is not about calculating a date (Paul says we have no need of that kind of writing). It is about knowing what kind of day is coming and what kind of people we are supposed to be while we wait. Get the day wrong and we will get the waiting wrong—growing either frantic or dull.
