Discussion Question

What would our animal fairy companions be in the Healin' Good canon?

Main Discussion

With no Tropical Rouge episode this week, we watch the Healin' Good solo movie: Healin' Good Pretty Cure: GoGo! Big Transformation! The Town of Dreams. We wonder why the Yes Precure 5 girls were even included, but otherwise we really liked it. Plus, it has a hot scientist mom and a cute moon-fairy child and a goofy villain.

Futari Wa PreCure

Episode 22 is about... talking dogs, and motherhood? It was a strange turn of events, but it was still good.

Kira Kira PreCure A La Mode

Joel watched both episodes 22 and 23, which covers Julio's tragic backstory, his defeat, and the secret to happiness: waffles! Plus, Ciel makes her debut as a PreCure as Cure Parfait!

This podcast episode covers the special "Infiltrate! Thousand Sunny" and the movie "One Piece 3D: Straw Hat Chase"

Chatting with the Hosts

Joel has been playing Crash 4 again, hoping to unlock all the costumes. It's tough but fun

Both hosts are re-reading Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson in preparation for our November bonus episode. It's got a lot of interesting developments, and intense fight scenes.

Kat is reading the King of Scars duology by Leigh Bardugo, more books in the Grishaverse. She is excited for Joel to start the series, and thinks this book would appeal to fans of soft magic.

Main Discussion

We don't have much to say about this 3-D animated movie. Its visual format didn't help us enjoy the story any better and the old man was a boring character- but at least there was a fat dog. So instead we also focus on what the potential repercussions of the Marineford War, both on Luffy and the One Piece canon as a whole.

Discussion Question

What books would Minori recommend to the other Tropical CLub members?

Main Discussion

Joel really liked this episode despite its episodic nature, owing to how much each character tropical shined. We ponder what secrets may lie in the "Cave of Foreshadowing," and we ponder if there may have been legendary PreCure earlier in the Tropical Rouge Timeline.

Futari Wa PreCure

We really liked episode 21 of Futari Wa, which had a truly dramatic and touching finale as we say goodbye to Kiriya.

Kira Kira PreCure A La Mode

Secrets are revealed as Ciel learns of the group's precure status, and they learn she is a fairy! We talk about how well the story arcs feed into each other, and Joel is excited to see where Julio's story will go next.

In this episode, we find two reasons to bring up ToQger, which is only tangential to the central plot of stolen melon pan! Which of the club members is a thief, and how will the team get over this betrayal?

Futari Wa PreCure

We appreciate Westar as the ultimate himbo, and Berry/Miki's motherly bond with Chiffon is adorable

Part 2 of "KotWN's First Day at Middle School! Another PreCure Adventure Begins!" explores what we feel makes a good season start, or what might cause them to stumble. We discuss favorite cures, favorite fairies, and favorite baddies from each of these seasons. And we also unveil our official rankings of each season and ponder the commonalities in our votes, or the discrepancies.

In Part 1, we discuss the first episode of 8 PreCure seasons: Splash Star, Yes PreCure 5, Fresh, Suite, Smile, Doki doki, Happiness Charge, and Hugtto

Ciel has arrived, and she's both fantastic and somewhat dumb- unable to connect Ichika to Cure Whip.

The duo is attacked by piccolo's doppleganger, who can steal souls? Also, the fairies almost got a divorce.

This stretch of episodes truly mark the end of an era in the show, and your hosts are thrilled to talk about it. Whitebeard and Ace both perish, and the first like an absolute boss. Shanks makes a surprise appearance and we love his sexy crew. Plus, does Ivan have access to catboy hormones? We talk about the sheesh meme as well, it's a strange time on the podcast.

Bibury is here! With her vore puppet Joel will continue to call Kermit, no matter how much the show insists his name is Ill (or Iru).

Futari Wa PreCure

Kat loves the "kicky jump" - if there's an official term for this, please let Kat know! Also this episode is about Kiriya and... love letters?

John's introduction Who is John's favorite Straw Hat and Why? Surprise, it's Sanji!

Chatting with the Hosts John's been playing Monster Hunter Rise, and has run out of things to do while he waits for more content! We also pick his brain for which monster is his favorite. He cheats and picks two.

Joel really enjoyed Hbomberguy's deep dive into the history of the anti-vax movement in Vaccines A Measured Response, it's long but very in-depth and informative.

Kat has been watching dog-training videos, and has fallen in love with Frankie to the Moon

Main DiscussionThis episode gets a little weird with the introduction of Joel-saw, who will place you in a deathtrap, and the only chance for escape is to answer obscure One Piece trivia. But that aside, we have Luffy getting the top shelf hormones, a love of Crocodile and Mr. 1, and a discussion of conqueror's haki. We all love this series and bond over how incredible this story is and only continues to be into the future.

Thoughts From the Crew

We mostly talk about Gremlins, something which our podcast has been sorely missing, and John turns out to have an endless wealth of information on the subject.
