My biggest takeaway? Obedience isn’t about rigid rule-following, but letting God guide our hearts to a higher purpose that replaces temporary highs with deep, fulfilling joy.

About Summer:

Summer’s journey to faith has been a rollercoaster. After years of personal struggles, including an autoimmune diagnosis in 2015, she was desperate to find the health and happiness she felt she had lost.

In 2014, a therapist introduced her to the Law of Attraction, sparking a deep dive into spirituality and holistic health as she sought remission from her autoimmune condition. However, this pursuit led her deeper into spiritual confusion. She explored everything from psychic readings and reiki to psychedelics, chasing answers and fulfillment. But instead of peace, she encountered spiritual warfare—worsened health, toxic relationships, and a deep sense of hopelessness and burnout.

Though she was familiar with the Gospel, she rejected it, believing she could be her own savior and that true fulfillment was just beyond the next ritual, psychic session, or psychedelic experience. She had multiple encounters with Jesus during this time but found herself repeatedly drawn back into New Age practices.

In April 2023, after a powerful encounter with Jesus, Summer renounced her New Age beliefs and embraced her identity as a daughter of Christ.

“There’s sugar in the poison,” she says of mixing New Age practices with faith. Although her walk with Christ has had its challenges, she is passionate about helping others on their journey, sharing the lessons she’s learned, and pointing to the true fulfillment that can only be found in Christ.
