We honor God by honoring those who are in authority. Strength is modeled in humility, fully submitted to God, by practically honoring those He has allowed in authority. We do not have to agree, but we do need to honor.

When we think we are taking up God’s defense by pointing out what is wrong with those in authority, we are acting in rejection to God’s sovereignty & His will, not in agreement with it. We honor those in authority, and in doing so we honor God; but we do not regard those in authority as God.

It’s God’s kindness that leads to repentance; what if we modeled this in our lives?
