But if someone starts using Crypto-Currency, how can they use it to buy everyday items? Wouldn’t they have to convert it to regular currency?

I believe the banks are required, I believe currently it is still $10K per transaction, and the banks have to tell the government about it.  They are asking on the tax forms if you have any crypto-currency, etc. Does a person have to inform the government of any and all crypto-currency, i.e. BitCoin, when we purchase it? Or is it only when we sell it (so they can tax the profits)?

That gives us a foundation of what BitCoin and crypto-currency is. Before we get into the importance of possibly using BitCoin in ministry, why should we be wary of the current financial system?

A lot of people want to know about BitCoin now because of the recent gains and highs it has hit. But most people do not know anything about it. What it is or how to trade it. It is called, “Crypto-Currency.”

Craig’s parents were alcoholics and fought violently. His Father abandoned the family and, later, his mother did the same. Ultimately, the courts stepped in and the children to an orphanage on the other side of the country.

Living in an institution with 320 other unwanted kids is all Craig knew while growing up. When he finally was able to leave the orphanage, it was only natural he began to follow a rebellious path in life.

He enrolled in college as a music major, but knew nothing about music. But soon, the college party scene started calling, and this rebellious man answered the call…

But for the efforts of Christians on campus who reached out and witnessed about Christ to anyone who would listen, including Craig, who knows where his path in life would have led.

But instead of a life of death and destruction, Craig has been serving the Lord!

Craig Perkins is the founder of “Heart Touch Music,” had a traveling concert ministry; has hosted and served in retreats, seminars, recovery programs and healing centers. You were married in 1983 and then, basically, went on tour with your music. How long did you do that?

You write music as a tool to touch troubled hearts. You also provide instrumental music for counselors and therapists to use in their practices. Tell us about this…

How can music help us, the average person listening right now?

You have shared that we are called to win the world for Christ. But yet , we often ignore those who are right next to us. Our family, friends, co-workers, etc.

You also composed a song for this calling of reaching those around us with the Gospel. It’s titled “Forgiven.” Let’s listen to a clip then come back to the interview.

First question, other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Craig Perkins?”

How old were you when you were first taken to the orphanage?

How traumatic of an experience was all of this for you at that age?

Were you and your sibling kept together?

On you website, you make reference be sexually abused. Was this prior to entering the orphanage or during or after?

You share that, as soon as you were old enough to leave the system, you became a rebel. How so?

You went to college to study music. What made you choose that as your major?

And at college, the “party, party, party” lifestyle started calling, correct?

Is that what led you to drugs and all of that?

How were your grades at that time?

How did you get involved with Christian friends who began to witness to you?

You share that He was always with you, even in those dark places.

Was there some “ah-ha” moment when you realized you needed Christ?

Did you notice your “old friends” started to say, “Something about you has changed…?”

Xsance Love should have had a great childhood. She grew up in a pastor’s home and attended church and all of that. But, something was missing.  It was a sense of normalcy. She was expected to live and act a certain way – simply because she was a “PK.” Pastor’s kid.

This caused some rebellion, as most PK’s will attest to.

But it also involved abuse. Bullying. And the one place she should have found comfort and peace, the church, offered no support at all – or very little.

Most Christians should be familiar with the scripture, “we have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God.”  But what does that mean?  Without going into the deep, “spiritual applications,” let’s just say – you, me and everyone else sins each and every day.

If you just said, “not me” – you just sinned. You just committed a lie and that is a sin! Praise God – Don’t shout me down when I’m preaching good! Amen!

But, seriously, if every person sins – and they do so every single day, in some way, form or fashion, then we have fallen short of the Glory of God and need forgiveness.  And, sometimes, we sin against others in the process.

It might be something we say or do; it could be something we fail to do or say. It might be – well, there are boundless opportunities to sin each and every day.

Along with US sinning against others all day long, there are others who do things to us as well. And one of the most dangerous areas we can move into is the sin of “unforgiveness.”  If we fail to forgive someone when they sin against, as the Lord’s prayer implies, “this will stop us from receiving our forgiveness as well.”

Forgiveness is the central core of the Bible and all that Jesus accomplished at the cross. That is what we need to share with as many people as possible. Amen!

Well, that is what our guest today is all about. Dr. Rosemarie Downer is a Christian non-fiction author who has written several books over these last few year.

Dr. Downer served with the US Dept. of Agriculture as a social science researcher for over 20 years and as an adjunct professor for Bowie State University for 24 years. She is now retired from both positions and has dedicated herself to doing what she has always dreamed of doing – writing books that edify the Body of Christ! Amen!

Her most recent book is titled, “The High Call of Forgiveness: It’s a Mandate” and that is what we will be discussing today.

This book, “The High Call of Forgiveness: It’s a Mandate,” is actually a “re-release” of the book for 2015, right? Why is that?

As followers of Christ, we are REQUIRED by God to forgive. That’s why you call it a “mandate?”

Just that word, “mandate.” That is not a “do this if you feel like it” type of word. It is a command, correct?

Just like the vaccination MANDATES.  It’s not an option.  It’s not a “do this if you want to” type of thing.

And we are required to actually “forgive others as we have been forgiven.”

Another way of looking at this would be, if we take the bible literally, (which we should), if we do not forgive those who offended us, we will not be forgiven for our sins which offend God, right?

Why this book is needed now for this day and time?

Now the situation you referenced and I don’t want to get into the details, but this is where the book had its roots. Were you struggling through this and this book, basically, details the steps you went through for forgiveness?

How does your book lead the reader through to that conclusion in their own situation?

Folks, unforgiveness can keep you bound up and unable to move forward. And, I would venture to say, something you are holding in your heart because of what someone said or did to you – is hurting YOU more than it is hurting the other person.  I’ve seen where someone was walking in unforgiveness for years over something someone said or did. That other person had gone on with their life and had no idea this person was still holding that grudge from years before.

Sometimes you’ll hear quips like, “I can forgive the sin but not the sinner” or things like that. Why do so many believers struggle with obeying the command to “forgive others as I have forgiven you?”

Have you ever felt that everything you touched did not turn to gold? But instead, just went from good to bad to worse? Everything. Everything you believed in. Everything you tried to do?

My guest today faced that very dilemma. In 2014, Zach Windahl went from bad to worse. He always had a plan, until that time. He was broken. He was lost. He started to contemplate everything he had believed in.

He had grown up as a Christian, but things were so bad, he realized he had no idea what that meant.  He started to look at religion in a very different light. He stated to look at Christianity in America.

When you seen in the Bible that God “creates,” what did that mean for you?

Explain how you came to the understanding that God’s story continues even to today…

How does someone find themselves in God’s Story, as you share in your book?

How can we, as you put it, “lean into our talents?”

One of the things you’ve discovered older folks, myself included, wish they could’ve done more of is to have spent more time with their family, and, instead of working at a job for someone else, they wished they would’ve pursued their dreams. How did that impact you and what you are doing now?

Because of time, I want to jump towards the end of your book. Especially about “Building a Team.” Because of my leadership training the military, I have spoken at several business conferences on the topic of “Team Building.” So this section absolutely caught my attention…

You state, “In general, if you’re great at something in business, stick with it. If you’re good at it, do it until you can afford to pay someone else to do it. And if you’re bad at it, hire someone to do it now.”

I absolutely agree, but I also get asked, when I say this, “But I can’t afford to hire anybody, so I  have to just try and get it done as best I can right now…”

What do you say about that type of comment?

One chapter in your book, “Launch with God,” you share about “Removing Obstacles.”  What do you see as the biggest obstacle that faces most of us down?
