Kingdom Divided "Bell Lands" (Sword Chronicle)

Casimir prepares to speak with Kristjan Covinggard, framing the conversation as neighbors' discourse rather than a covert negotiation for a potential invasion into Rivers. Sovereign accompanies him to facilitate talks between "Rivers Durand" and the Blood Prince.

Kristjan reveals a somewhat positive relationship with Endi and Sherman, or at least what he publicly admits. Sovereign interjects with a platitude about maintaining friendships despite differing opinions on power dynamics. The conversation shifts to Casimir's time as a Crusader, with a focus on the exotic lands of the Mikado rather than the details of the Crusades.

Kristjan offers to eliminate Donald Durand, who attempted to harm Casimir's wife, indicating political imprisonments in Covenguard. Meanwhile, Caden follows a random bloody trail, and a wounded bobcat is tended to and given Caden's scent for future identification.

During a river journey, an overarching discussion ensues about Montmier. Although heated, no concrete decision is reached, emphasizing the importance of making friends with minor houses over making enemies of major ones. Upon disembarking, a military contingent is encountered, prompting Casimir and Caden to befriend them for safer travel.

Oliwier Sobczak, a key figure in Montimer culture, welcomes the group and emphasizes the significance of knighthood within the Ashen Order. Colonel Kamil Krupa provides insight into the Red Spot and its members. Lady Deva, a formidable horse archer, impresses the group, and a secret phrase supporting Talmert expansion is revealed.

Abagail Trudo discusses training methods with Casimir, expressing feeling abandoned by the Tested and subsequently joining the Knights of Montimer. Sovereign learns more about her rings, signifying Language Saltblood, Lore Valves of the Heartstone, and Warfare.

Peter McBravo engages with Sir Emil Shäffer, a Red Spot envoy, and Shivon charms Colonel Kamil Krupa, learning about the Hussars' frustrations in the region. Igor Nowicki shares information about Hans being captured by "Almerin heretics" in the unruly lands of northern Almerin.

At midnight, a toast is given to Duchess Lucy, diverting from the expected Duke Charles, followed by toasts to Conner and Baby Angus.

Casimer queries Tristan about town guards' loyalty, leaning towards Hans. Peter directs his squire, while Eloise and Nathan spar amusingly. Rory arrives early, releases Hans as Steward, and Lyla warmly greets him. Business discussions ensue, introducing the phrase "Shivon problem."

House Wycliff plans to adopt children for lineage continuity. Carrick's future injury is hinted, and Lyla accompanies Rory for details. Siobhan and Timothy discuss concerns, emphasizing demands, including no Mikado lands for Siobhan and 40-50 days apart.

Conner arrives, revealing plans for a secret police in the East and breaking the treaty with the Saffron Isles. Lyla's pregnancy becomes public, and Conner discusses strategies and Carrick's illness. Social dynamics unfold with drinking contests, dress-fetching, and Peter's espionage attempts.

The poisoning conspiracy, involving Jade Isles, affects Carrick and potentially Peter's mother. Conner hints at past actions, linking the Body Hopper Cult to the Silverridge Poison Conspiracy. Revelations about Endulusicious' name and Teressa Wycliff's fate emerge. The session concludes with XP spending instructions.

A fleet of ships, bearing the flag of Silveroak, arrives at the port, indicating the generous nature of the Silveroak faction, including the generous gift of a remarkable ship to Caden. Meanwhile, amidst the gatherings and exchanges, there is a covert conversation between Emmanuel Carrigan and Peter about the mysterious creatures of the Maw. Lyla welcomes the Silveroak group and offers them accommodation in Rory's personal house. At the port, Kristjan Covinggard, the Blood Prince of Covengguard, arrives seemingly to inspect the ships. In the city, there are reports of the Brazerbucks wandering around, possibly involved with the first contingent of peacekeepers, who are convening at the Twisted Rings, a local bookstore.

Amidst these events, Caden visits his non-noble family, and a heartwarming meeting occurs between Caden, Peter, Shivon, and Octavia. A touching moment ensues as Tristan, Caden's stepfather, gifts Siobhan with a special bell and bestows a Henge horse upon Caden. Additionally, concerns arise about Conner's health and the recent poisoning incident involving a sea serpent. Theodoros Kolokotronis, an Estin Peacekeeper, reveals himself, hinting at future revelations without disrupting the ongoing festivities. As tensions rise, the last peacekeeper, Borin, is reported killed in a riot, and Theodosius voices his disapproval of any heretical activities, throwing shade at certain individuals.

The storyline progresses with a momentous wedding ceremony, where Theodosius unexpectedly knights Caden, followed by the exchange of rings and a heartfelt letter delivered to Casimir from Penelope. Meanwhile, Peter uncovers a mysterious mask of the Maw people from his puzzle box, which reveals unsettling effects upon wearing it. Siobhan delves into the backstory of Kristjan, unraveling a tale of loss and curses. Additionally, a translated letter from the Saltblood speaks of a treaty and deepening connections, signifying potential changes and alliances to come. The events build anticipation for Shiobhan's upcoming interaction with Timothy, hinting at further plot developments in the future.
