Understand authority from a Kingdom, relational perspective. Impartation.

What is Authority? Authority is ownership. Man was given ownership of the Earth so he had authority to name the animals. Jesus has authority to forgive sins because He owns you. If a King conquers a kingdom and chooses to give them citizenship in His Kingdom he has forgiven them. He even gives them land in His kingdom and allows them freedom. Authority cannot be separated from dominion. A policemen has no authority outside of his jurisdiction. A judge cannot rule in a foreign land. His jurisdiction and authority is related to the land he operates in. A government has authority and power over its people and land but not over other lands. A man has authority over his wife. A church over its members. A husband and wife are one body, one property owned by God. A church is one body the body of Christ owned by God. A husband and wife have authority over their kids because they effectively own them. The child becomes an adult and becomes his own sovereign later. Until then he is protected by the covenant of their marriage. Jesus exercised more than authority He exercised dominion. Dominion is ownership worked through with power. Jesus did not take authority over the bread to multiply it and feed the 5000, did He? No He CREATED bread out of nothing. He commanded the atoms in the air to become bread. Jesus took authority over the storm and when He walked on the water that is Authority but it is more than authority it is power worked through ownership. It's called dominion. You and I have authority to forgive sins. Jesus received His authority from the Father. It's a family business. The father owns everything. In fact Jesus gives everything back to the Father and then the Father gives everything and places everything UNDER His Son. The safest place to be in the universe and in eternity is UNDER the Son. When we are under the Son we are safe because He owns everything. If we stand under an umbrella we don't get wet. If we stand under Jesus we get healed, we get saved, we get everything. We also get ownership. Paul said we own EVERYTHING. We inherit everything. We inherit God and He inherits us. I hope you like this episode. Go in the wake of Jesus.
