Yasser and Aki are pastors called to Havana, Cuba, where revival fire is burning in kingdom family. Although Cuba faces many challenges, including food shortages and economic problems, one of the greatest giants facing this generation is hopelessness. If you ask many young Cubans about their dreams, many say their greatest dream is to leave Cuba. God is moving through the church in Cuba and our spiritual children are multiplying the kingdom family movement. Last year, Yasser and Aki experienced more miracles and growth than ever before. “In my teenage years, I really had to fight for a relationship with my dad because he traveled so much. Discovering after the fact that my dad was in extremely dangerous situations was really hard. I had to navigate a journey of overcoming pain and discovering my own connection with Jesus. I’ve seen the ugly underbelly of ministry and still chose to follow Jesus into ministry. 

 

A piece of advice from my high school pastor really changed the trajectory of my life. He said “Learn to listen to your heart, instead of your head.” and that’s when I laid down my plans and I swam upstream in pursuit of God’s call on my life. I decided to do my discipleship training school at YWAM-Kristiansand to reignite my spark with Jesus.”

Southeast Asia had been on my heart for years and my outreach ended up being to India. When I was in Varanasi, India at a Hindu festival, I had a word of knowledge that a lady had pain in her back. Then, a lady was highlighted to me, so we started talking with her, and when we prayed she was completely healed! 

 

I wanted to give back and serve YWAM Kristiansand because they’d made such an impact on my life. Now I’m serving in the Revive DTS with a heart to activate and pass the fire to the next generation.

“I would go through all of the church hurt again because of the amount of healing and breakthrough it released in my life.” shares Chad Norris, Pastor of Bridgeway Church in Greenville, SC. 

 

I am on this earth to learn how to forgive and love well. I believe that God is ushering in the seasons that grow love in us. God is in the crushing and using it for His glory.  Romans 8:18 exhorts us to “consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”

 

You can’t learn how to love from a book, you have to walk in deep friendship with God. You learn how to love by going through the crushing and letting God touch you. Going through pain taught me how to truly love. 

 

Is there anyone God could bring into your path that you are not able to love?

“Learning how to wash the feet of the Judas’ in my life is how I learned how to love.” shares Leif Hetland.

God said, “Jennifer, you give so little grace to others because you give so little grace to yourself.”

On this side of heaven, we are all “in process” and we need to give ourselves and others grace. Having high standards isn’t wrong, but we need to be willing to walk with people as they navigate pain and grow through it.

When people in authority misrepresent Jesus to us, we have the opportunity to love each other the way Christ loves us. We show who Jesus is when we don’t want revenge. Any time there’s unforgiveness, you have given someone else power over you. We can’t allow our wounds to become excuses that hinder us from growing into all that we are called to be. Ultimately we need to get our nutrients from the Father, not from a person.
