Sometimes You Can’t Speak—So Write: Why God’s Message Must Keep GoingThere was something placed heavily on my heart this morning about the importance of communication, especially when it comes to the Word of God. We often put tremendous emphasis on the person standing in front of a congregation, holding a microphone, preaching a sermon, teaching a lesson, or verbally telling people what God has done. There is certainly power in speaking, but I believe we sometimes overlook something equally important: somebody has to write it down. A spoken message can reach the people who are present to hear it, but a written message can travel beyond the room, beyond the city, beyond the lifetime of the person who originally delivered it, and even beyond the generation in which it was first spoken.When we look throughout the Bible, we discover that God did not depend on only one method of communication. There were prophets who spoke, teachers who taught, witnesses who testified, people who sang, and people who wrote. God understood something that we sometimes forget: human beings do not remain on this earth forever. The people who witnessed extraordinary events would eventually die. Their voices would eventually become silent. The people who physically walked alongside Jesus would not always be available to sit down with the next generation and personally explain everything they had seen. If the testimony was going to continue reaching people, there needed to be a way for the message to remain after the messenger was gone. Writing became one of the ways testimony could survive time.There are several places in Scripture where writing itself becomes part of the assignment. Habakkuk 2:2 says, “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Jeremiah 36:2 records God instructing Jeremiah to take a scroll and write the words that had been spoken to him. Revelation 1:19 similarly contains the instruction to John to write what he had seen. These passages show that recording information was not treated as an insignificant task. There were things that needed to move from the spoken moment into a form that could be preserved, read, revisited, copied, taught, and passed forward.God Didn't Only Tell People to Speak—He Told People to Write

Okay, Red Lobster, we need to have a conversation, because I genuinely want to know what happened. And I'm not coming into this as somebody who has always disliked the restaurant. It's actually the complete opposite. I used to love Red Lobster. Back in the day, Red Lobster was one of those restaurants where going there actually felt like you were going somewhere. You could go after homecoming, prom, on a date, with family, or for a celebration, and getting seafood at Red Lobster felt like a treat. That's exactly why my recent experience was so disappointing. I'm comparing today's experience with a restaurant I actually remember enjoying.My biggest issue isn't necessarily the price. I'll pay for good food. If you give me something that tastes fresh, has good flavor, is prepared properly, and looks reasonably close to what you advertised, I don't mind spending money on it. My problem is paying restaurant prices and getting something that leaves me wondering whether I could have gotten a similar experience from the frozen-food aisle. That's where Red Lobster lost me during this particular visit.

Let’s talk about the ethics complaint involving Rep. Lauren Boebert. A complaint filed on September 17 alleges that she had sexual relationships with three staff members she supervised. It also raises questions about staff and campaign payments, including an alleged $200,000 payment. Those are serious accusations, especially when public funds and the power a member of Congress holds over employees are part of the story.But a filed complaint is not a finding of guilt. Boebert says the allegations are false, and one of the former staff members named in the complaint has denied the claims about her. The records and photos included with the complaint may show employment, payments, and people appearing together. They do not, on their own, prove a sexual relationship or explain why a payment was made. If we’re going to demand honesty from public officials, we need to be just as honest about what the evidence shows.

Okay, y’all, I had to come on here and talk about this because the situation between Dorit Kemsley and PK Kemsley is getting messier by the minute. If you watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, then you already know their divorce has not exactly been peaceful, and their finances and Encino home have become a huge part of the battle. Now there is another development, and when I read it, I said, wait a minute—PK did WHAT? According to a September 18 report from Reality Blurb, a company controlled by PK purchased the second deed of trust connected to the couple's home for $950,000. Attorney Ronald Richards, whose comments were cited in the report, said the amount currently owed on that note is more than $1.2 million. Richards claims the move puts PK in a position to collect what he's owed ahead of Dorit and could ultimately leave her with nothing from the home's sale.

Jesus loved people enough to be wounded by people. He experienced rejection, betrayal, humiliation, abandonment, and physical suffering, yet He remained committed to the Father's will. Think about that. His wounds did not mean He had failed. His wounds showed just how far His obedience, sacrifice, and love went.

I want to share something today because I feel deeply led to speak to those who may be walking through confusion. Sometimes the confusion we experience is not because something is wrong with us. Sometimes we become confused because we have started entertaining too many voices. We start worrying about who, what, when, where, why, how, and what if. We start examining situations that God never asked us to examine. And before we know it, we have allowed questions to become louder than our faith.If you believe in God and you know that God loves you, then there comes a point when you have to stop worrying about everything surrounding what He has called you to do. Whatever God has placed before you, do it to the best of your ability. If you believe He has given you an assignment, concentrate on being faithful to that assignment instead of constantly looking around to see whether somebody else understands it, approves of it, validates it, or believes in you.Confusion can become powerful when we start believing every negative thought that enters our minds. That is why Scripture tells us to test things rather than simply accept every spiritual claim: “Test the spirits to see whether they are from God” (1 John 4:1). Everything that enters your mind is not automatically truth, and everything somebody attaches God's name to did not necessarily come from God.That is especially important today.Someone can stand before a camera and say, “God told me,” but simply attaching God's name to an action does not make that action godly. If somebody claims God instructed them to abuse a child, murder somebody, exploit somebody, or commit some other evil act, Christians should not suddenly become confused about God's character. We measure the claim against the character and teachings revealed in Scripture. Jesus Himself warned that we recognize people by their fruit (Matthew 7:15–20).
