A lot of us walk around saying, “I’m trying to hear from God,” but if we’re honest, we’re only open to hearing what we agree with. The moment truth shows up in a way that challenges us, corrects us, or exposes something in us—we shut down. We get defensive. We dismiss it. Or worse… we ignore it completely. But here’s the truth: God has been speaking to you. Not just today. Not just recently. A long time ago. Through people. Through situations. Through that uncomfortable feeling you keep pushing away. Through that one conversation that stuck with you longer than it should have. Through correction you didn’t ask for but needed anyway. And instead of sitting with it and going back to God like, “Lord, fix my heart so I can receive this,” we go everywhere else. We look for validation. We look for agreement. We look for someone to tell us we’re fine the way we are. But growth doesn’t happen in comfort—it happens in truth. Sometimes people aren’t attacking you. Sometimes they’re revealing something you genuinely can’t see about yourself. And instead of labeling them as negative or “coming for you,” maybe—just maybe—that’s God trying to get your attention. We say we want clarity, but we avoid conviction.
We say we want God’s voice, but we reject His method. God is limitless. He’s not boxed into one way of speaking. He will use whatever—and whoever—He needs to reach you. The real issue isn’t that God isn’t speaking.
The issue is that we’re not present enough to hear Him. We’re distracted. We’re prideful. And sometimes… we’re just not ready to accept the truth. But here’s where it shifts: maturity is when you start praying differently. “Lord, don’t just speak to me—prepare me to receive it.”
“Correct my heart so I don’t reject what I need.”
“Help me recognize your voice—even when it’s uncomfortable.” Because once you get to that place, everything changes. You stop running from truth… and start growing through it. God is speaking. The question is—are you finally ready to listen?

I really don’t get it. I’m trying to understand how we got to a place where people are willingly paying close to $2,000 a month to live in what is basically a box — 300 square feet — in New York City. That’s not an apartment, that’s a storage unit with a stove. And somehow, this has been normalized like it’s just part of “the dream.”
What dream?
Because from the outside looking in, it feels like people are chasing an image more than an actual quality of life. The idea of saying “I live in New York” has somehow become more valuable than living comfortably, having space, and actually being able to breathe in your own home. You mean to tell me you’re working nonstop, stressing over bills, barely saving anything — all so you can come home to a place where your bed is basically touching your kitchen?
That’s not living. That’s surviving with a zip code attached to it.
And let’s talk about the math for a second. If rent is pushing $2,000, that means realistically you need to be making at least $4,000 a month just to stay afloat. That’s not including food, transportation, emergencies, or trying to actually enjoy your life. So now you’re locked into this cycle where everything you earn is already spoken for before you even see it. There’s no room to build, no room to breathe, and definitely no room to grow.

And I’m not saying anybody has to be perfect, because clearly, none of us are. But there’s a difference between struggling and straight-up ignoring what you’re teaching.Like, how are you going to sit there and tell people how to live for Christ, but behind closed doors you’re doing the complete opposite? That’s where it starts to feel fake. And people can see that. You might think they don’t, but trust me, they do. Jesus made it clear we’re supposed to be doers of the Word, not just hearers. It’s easy to quote scripture. It’s easy to post about God. It’s easy to give advice. But living it? That’s the real work. That’s where the consistency shows up.And honestly, this is why a lot of people don’t take Christianity seriously. It’s not always the message—it’s the messengers. When people see hypocrisy, it turns them off completely. You can’t tell someone “God is love” but you’re full of hate. You can’t talk about honesty but you’re lying and manipulating people. That’s what makes people question everything.And then we wonder why folks don’t want to come to church or don’t trust believers. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being real. If you mess up, own it. If you’re struggling, say that. But don’t act like you’re walking in something that you’re not even trying to live. That’s where the problem comes in.Because when you’re in a position where you’re teaching, leading, or even just speaking about God, people are watching you whether you like it or not. They’re building trust based on what you say AND what you do. And if those two things don’t line up, your credibility starts to fall apart.

I know I’m not the only one dealing with it. I ordered these “4 Panels Rod Pocket Coated Blackout Curtains, 100% Light Blocking Drapes” from Temu and when they came in… I was honestly irritated the moment I opened the package.First thing I noticed was the material. These did NOT look like blackout curtains at all. It literally looked like somebody took a regular set of bed sheets and stitched them onto a black backing. No weight to them, no quality feel, nothing that says “this is going to block light.” If anything, it looked like something I could’ve made at home if I had a sewing machine and an old sheet set.Now I get it, Temu is known for cheap prices. I’m not expecting luxury, but I am expecting the product to at least resemble what was advertised. The pictures online made them look thick, structured, and actually blackout. What I received looked like a shortcut version of that. Big difference.And honestly, the most frustrating part wasn’t even just the product, it was the feeling of “is it even worth returning this?” Because let’s be real, returning stuff to some of these platforms can feel like a whole process. Printing labels, repackaging, waiting weeks… sometimes people just take the loss because the hassle isn’t even worth the money. That’s exactly how I felt. I was annoyed, but not enough to go through all that back-and-forth.This isn’t even my first issue with Temu either. I’ve had a couple of orders where the description looked great, the photos looked convincing, and then what showed up was just… off. Not completely useless, but definitely not what was advertised. And I know a lot of people just don’t report it, which is probably why it keeps happening.It honestly made me appreciate ordering from Amazon again. At least with Amazon, I feel like I know what I’m getting most of the time, and if something is wrong, the return process is way smoother. With Temu, it feels like you’re taking a gamble every single time.I’m not saying everything on Temu is bad, but experiences like this make it hard to trust what you’re seeing. If you’re advertising blackout curtains, they need to actually function like blackout curtains—not look like DIY bed sheet projects. Has anybody else ordered curtains or home items from Temu and felt like this? Because I’m starting to think it’s hit or miss more than anything.

Man… I’m not even gonna lie, I’ve been sitting here really thinking about everything that’s been going on since 2025 and I’m just like… what happened to us? 🤷🏽‍♂️ Like seriously… did we lose our country or what? There are moments where I just wanna yell out loud, “WHERE IS Kamala Harris?!” 😩 And the crazy part is… I didn’t even vote for her. That’s how you know this ain’t even about picking sides anymore. It’s about wanting somebody to step up and make things make sense.

Because right now? NOTHING makes sense. Everything feels off. Prices high, people stressed, everybody arguing, nobody listening… it’s like we just out here surviving at this point 😒 And what really gets me is this… How are people STILL acting like Donald Trump is good for this economy?? Like for real?? 🤨

I’m not even saying this to argue with nobody — I’m saying this because it’s frustrating watching the same thing play out over and over again. Some of us been saying this for YEARS. Not days… not months… YEARS. And now all of a sudden people starting to see it?? Like… it took ALL THIS for y’all to finally get it?? 😑 That’s the part that don’t sit right with me.
