  • DON’T BE A THIRSTY HORSE | A POWERFUL TESTIMONY OF REDEMPTION

What does redemption look like when you’ve lost almost everything?

In this special Kingdom Kickback episode, we’re sitting down with Sister Ashley at Kingdom Coffee to hear a powerful testimony of God’s grace, redemption, and the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

After more than 20 years of addiction, homelessness, abusive relationships, and years of separation from her children, Ashley shares how God began bringing her life back together.

From living in a tent along the river to finding hope at the Modesto Gospel Mission, from being separated from her children to becoming a present mother and grandmother, her story is a reminder that our past does not have to define our future.

Ashley shares the moments she once overlooked but now recognizes as God’s grace, the people who helped along the way, and the faith that continues to carry her forward.

One line from her testimony says it all:

    “Don’t be a thirsty horse.”

God can lead us to the water, but we have to be willing to drink.

This isn’t a story about perfection. It’s a story about surrender, faith, and the grace of a God who redeems broken lives.

    Scripture: John 3:16

Listen, share, and encourage somebody who needs to hear that there is hope in Jesus Christ.

  • More Than Rules: Understanding the Heart of God’s Law | Kingdom Kickback Podcast

Welcome back to the Kingdom Kickback Podcast! This time, we’re recording from a different location while our Kingdom Coffee family is serving on the mission field in Spain.

Before we dive into Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:17–20 about fulfilling the Law, we’re going back to Exodus 19 to understand the bigger picture. God didn’t simply bring Israel out of Egypt to give them a list of rules. He delivered His people, brought them to Himself, established His covenant, and instructed them how to live as a people set apart for Him.

Join us as we discuss Moses, God’s deliverance from Egypt, the significance of Mount Sinai, and the difference between God’s commandments and the traditions people added to them. We’ll also explore how Jesus fulfills the Law and how loving God and loving our neighbor reflect the heart of His instruction.

We share real-life testimonies from a mountain encounter, discuss perseverance when the road gets difficult, and encourage one another to keep our eyes on Christ. Sometimes we can’t see what’s around the bend, but we can encourage our brothers to keep going and trust the Lord.

    Scriptures discussed:

    • Exodus 19:4–8 — God delivers Israel and brings His people to Himself.
    • Exodus 19:10–15 — Consecration and preparation before meeting with God.
    • Exodus 19:16–25 — God’s holiness and His presence at Mount Sinai.
    • Exodus 20:1–17 — The Ten Commandments.
    • Exodus 20:22–26 — Instructions concerning the altar.
    • Exodus 21 — Instructions governing Israel’s community life, including servants.
    • Isaiah 40:30–31 — Waiting on the Lord and renewed strength.
    • Psalm 23:4–5 — God’s presence in the valley and His provision in the presence of enemies.
    • Matthew 5:11–16 — Rejoicing amid persecution and shining as the light of the world.
    • Matthew 5:17–20 — Jesus fulfills the Law.
    • Mark 12:28–34 — Love God with all your being and love your neighbor as yourself.
    • John 13:34–35 — Christ’s disciples are recognized by their love for one another.
    • Galatians 1:3–4 — Christ gave Himself to deliver us from the present evil age.
    • 1 Peter 2:9–10 — God’s people as a chosen race, royal priesthood, and holy nation.
    • Galatians 5:13–14 — Love your neighbor as yourself.
    • Romans 13:8–10 — Love fulfills the law.

  • Faith Under Fire: From Persecution to Purpose

What does it really mean to be blessed when people insult you, slander you, exclude you, or oppose you for following Jesus?

This week on the Kingdom Kickback Podcast, we’re continuing our study through the Sermon on the Mount, finishing the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:11–12 and moving into Jesus’ teaching on being the salt of the earth and the light of the world in Matthew 5:13–16.

We’re talking about what it means to rejoice under pressure, stand firm when faith costs us something, and live differently in a world that doesn’t always welcome the truth. Through Scripture, honest conversation, and real-life testimony, we explore how God’s presence sustains us through suffering and how our lives can point others to Jesus.

From Paul’s command to rejoice in the Lord always to God’s warnings through His messengers in 2 Chronicles, we’re reminded that Scripture doesn’t simply describe what happens in this world—it teaches us how to live faithfully in it.

The challenge this week: Pay attention when you’re insulted, slandered, or pushed aside for doing what is right. Stop. Take a breath. Pray. Respond in a way that honors Christ, and let your light shine so that others may glorify your Father in heaven.

A special thank-you to our wives for joining us, supporting us, and sharing this time together. And to every listener tuning in from California, New York, Texas, South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and around the world—thank you for being part of the conversation. We’re grateful to God for every opportunity to open His Word together.

We’re not here to push opinions. We’re here to study Scripture, grow in Christ, and put His Word into practice.

Stay salty. Keep shining. Stand firm in Christ.

  • The Sermon on the Mount: Building the Foundation | Matthew 5:1–10

In this episode of Kingdom Kickback, we slow down and begin our study through the Sermon on the Mount.

Before rushing through the text, we look at the setting in Matthew 4:23–25, then step into Matthew 5:1–10 and break down the Beatitudes what Jesus means by being blessed, being poor in spirit, mourning, meekness, hungering and thirsting for righteousness, showing mercy, being pure in heart, making peace, and being persecuted for righteousness’ sake.

We also look at how Scripture helps explain Scripture through passages including:

    📖 Matthew 4:23–25
    📖 Matthew 5:1–10
    📖 Psalm 4:7
    📖 Psalm 37:11
    📖 Isaiah 61:1–3
    📖 John 4:9–38
    📖 Romans 8:12–17

The goal is simple: slow down, read the text in context, and let the Bible speak for itself. This is about laying the foundation before we move forward through Jesus’ teaching.

A special thank you to Kingdom Coffee for allowing us to gather, fellowship, and have these conversations around God’s Word.

And thank you to Albert and JJ for sitting down with us, opening up Scripture, and sharpening one another through the Word.

  • Am I Handling Scripture Accurately? | 2 Timothy 2:15

What does it really mean to “rightly handle the word of truth”?

On this episode of the Kingdom Kickback Podcast, Anthony sits down again with the mighty man of God, Albert, to slow down and work through 2 Timothy 2:15.

We’re not trying to rush through the text. We’re slowing down, looking at the context, the main action, the surrounding verses, and asking a simple question:

What was Paul actually telling Timothy and how do we faithfully apply that truth to our lives today?

From being a faithful workman, to enduring hardship, avoiding foolish arguments, correcting others with gentleness, and pursuing righteousness, we walk through 2 Timothy 2 and look at what it means to handle Scripture carefully rather than cutting corners.

Scripture references throughout the conversation include:

    📖 2 Timothy 2:1–26
     📖 2 Timothy 3:16–17
     📖 2 Timothy 4:6–8
     📖 Romans 12:2
     📖 James 1:22–25
     📖 Hebrews 4:12
     📖 John 8:31–32

Special thanks to Albert for sitting down with me and helping work through the Word, and a special thank you to Kingdom Coffee for giving us a place to record and fellowship.

  • Passion with Wisdom— Run Your Race, Living Ready for Christ.

Are you running your race faithfully, or getting distracted by someone else’s? In 1 Thessalonians 5, Paul gives practical instructions for life as we wait for Christ’s return. Encourage the discouraged. Help the weak. Be patient with everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, test everything, hold to what’s good, abstain from every form of evil. The episode closes with hope—verse 24, ‘He who calls you is faithful, He will surely do it.’ So the question is simple: are you running your race, or watching somebody else’s?

  • When a Brother Falls, What Do I Do?

Overzealous, Part 2: When a Brother Falls, What Do I Do?

What does it really look like to walk by the Spirit?

Galatians 6:1–2 gives us a powerful answer: when a brother or sister is caught in a trespass, those who are spiritual are called to restore them in a spirit of gentleness, while watching themselves so they aren’t tempted.

In this episode of the Kingdom Kickback, we go deeper into what godly correction actually looks like. We shouldn’t ignore sin or allow someone’s sin to damage the witness of Christ but we also shouldn’t crush people, shame them, gossip about them, or condemn them.

There is a biblical way to correct someone: with truth, gentleness, humility, love, and restoration.

    We talk about:

    • What walking by the Spirit looks like in real life
    • Why passion without wisdom can hurt people
    • The difference between loving correction and condemnation
    • Why mature believers are called to restore the fallen
    • Bearing one another’s burdens
    • Watching ourselves so we don’t fall into the same temptation
    • How restoration brings believers back into fellowship with God and His people
    • Why our love and actions are part of our witness for Christ

    Scriptures: Galatians 5:16–26; Galatians 6:1–2; 1 Thessalonians 5:14; John 13:34–35; 1 Corinthians 13; 2 Corinthians 5:17.

The question isn’t simply, “Do I know the Word?”

The question is: When my brother falls, do I restore him or do I crush him?

    Let’s walk by the Spirit.

  • When Passion Needs Wisdom | 1 Thessalonians 5:14 | Kingdom Kickback S5E1

When your passion for Jesus is real, but your approach is wrong—what happens?

In Season 5, Episode 1 of the Kingdom Kickback Podcast, Anthony sits down with Brother Albert Dominguez to unpack 1 Thessalonians 5:14 and what it means to warn, encourage, support, and be patient with people.

Anthony shares a personal testimony about his mother and how his passion to help her spiritually became overwhelming. It taught him an important lesson:

Passion needs wisdom. Good intentions still need the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

    We talk about:
📖 1 Thessalonians 5:14 — Warn, comfort, support, and be patient
    📖 Matthew 18:15–17 — Correcting someone biblically
📖 Galatians 6:1–2 — Restore and carry one another’s burdens
📖 James 1:5–8 — Ask God for wisdom
    📖 Proverbs 27:17 — Iron sharpens iron
📖 Ephesians 4:1–3, 15–16 — Walk in love, unity, and maturity
📖 Acts 2:1–4, 41 — The power of believers united in one accord

Not everyone needs correction. Not everyone needs a sermon. Sometimes someone needs encouragement. Sometimes they need help. And sometimes they simply need patience.

🙏 Thank you, Brother Albert Dominguez, for joining the Kingdom Kickback and sharing your heart for Jesus, ministry, fellowship, and reaching people with the Gospel.

  • **Season 4 Finale: Rooted, Built Up & Established in Christ | Colossians 2**

For the Season 4 finale, I sat down with a mighty man of God at Kingdom Coffee Café for a powerful conversation and recap of what Season 4 has been all about.

Coming from Colossians 2:6–7, we look at what it means to walk according to Christ—rooted in Him, being built up in Him, and established in the faith.

Our walk with Christ isn’t about trying to build ourselves up apart from Him. As we continue to walk in Him, He is the One who roots us, builds us up, and establishes us in the faith.
