In Matthew 13, Jesus tells two short parables about a hidden treasure and a precious pearl, and both stories point to the same truth: the kingdom of God is worth more than everything else combined. Some people stumble into this discovery unexpectedly, while others search for it deliberately, but both arrive at the same conclusion. The greatest treasure in the kingdom is not streets of gold or eternal life. It is Jesus Himself. We do not surrender everything to earn salvation. We surrender everything willingly because we have found someone infinitely more valuable than anything we once pursued.
