What does life together actually look like after the resurrection? As we return to Church in the Wild, we explore Acts 4:32–35 and the kind of community the early church embodied, one marked by unity, generosity, and shared life. In a culture shaped by individualism, this message challenges us to build something different by redefining what it means to act, interact, and react as the people of God.

In the final installment of The Crucified King, we celebrate Easter by exploring what the resurrection truly means. More than proof of life after death, the resurrection is God’s decisive declaration that Jesus is King. From Matthew 28:18, we see how the risen Jesus claims all authority and what that means for our lives, our obedience, and our mission to work His words in the world.

This week, we recap our first Vision Sunday and a timely Palm Sunday message centered on Simon of Cyrene. Together, they invite us to reconsider what it really means to follow Jesus in a culture that prefers comfort over the cross.

In Part 4 of The Crucified King, we step into John 18:36 and listen in on Jesus’ conversation with Pilate. As the shadow of empire reaches its climax, Jesus does not deny His kingship. He redefines it. This episode explores the contrast between the kingdom of God and the kingdoms of this world, the methods that distinguish them, and the uncomfortable question this raises for the church today: are we building with the way of Jesus, or borrowing the ways of empire?

In Part 3 of The Crucified King, we turn to Luke's Gospel to hear Jesus describe His mission in His own words. Anointed by the Spirit, Jesus announces good news for the poor, freedom for the captive, and restoration for the oppressed, revealing both the audience of His kingdom and the heart of His reign.

Jesus began His ministry with a bold declaration: “The time has come. The kingdom of God has come near.” In Part 2 of The Crucified King, Pastor Sean explores how the phrase “good news” would have been heard in the Roman world, why it demanded a response of repentance and belief, and how the true Gospel continues to confront our attempts to redefine it.

Pastor Sean begins The Crucified King by going back to the beginning. In Matthew 2, the Magi arrive in Jerusalem asking a dangerous question: “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?” Before Jesus ever preached a sermon or performed a miracle, He was proclaimed King. This is no ordinary baby.
