This is the first talk from our series "Renewal" from our Senior Pastor, James Burn.
“My purpose is to give live in all its fullness” (John 10:10, NLT)
“God who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that!” (1 Corinthians 1:9, The Message)
What do we most need to restore?
"I have laboured to no purpose; I have spent my strength in vain and for nothing.” (Isaiah 49:4, NIV)
“It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, fearing you will starve to death; for God wants His loved ones to get their proper rest.” (Psalm 127:2, The Living Bible)
“I’ve learned why people work so hard to succeed: it is because they envy the things their neighbours have.” (Ecclesiastes 4:4, Good News Bible)
“Resentment destroys the fool, and jealousy kills the simple.” (Job 5:2, NLT)
“You are only hurting yourself with your anger.” (Job 18:4, Good News Bible)
“Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don't drift along taking everything for granted. GIVE YOURSELVES REGULAR CHECKUPS. (2 Corinthians 13:5, The Message)
□ Our spiritual nourishment
“People need more than bread for their life; real life comes by feeding on every word of God.” (Deuteronomy 8:3, NLT)
“God’s principles will fill you with living energy.”
(Proverbs 3:22, The Living Bible)
“Faith comes from HEARING THE WORD of God.”
(Romans 10:17, Contemporary English Version)
Four habits that will help the restoration process:
Check your progress on a regular basis.
Hear the word on a regular basis
Act on what you hear on a regular basis
Tell others about what is happening in your spiritual life on a regular basis
