One of the key elements I believe to ‘Win’ in our Christian life is to have the right PEOPLE around us.

This session will cover the importance of having the right people alongside you to reach your goals. What people influence you? Who do you influence? Are you a good team player? I believe that it is important to have POSITIVE people alongside you. Real people that will be honest with you and not just those who will tell you what you want to hear. Sometimes it is important to keep those NEGATIVE people at arm’s length in order to fulfil your dreams and visions. Why? And my final thought. Are you in the right team?

Place matters. In the right environment we can grow flourish and be and do all God intended for our lives. God’s word tells us that if we are…Planted in the house we will flourish. Jesus went to synagogue as was his custom (habit). It also goes on to say … Don't neglect gathering together as some are in the habit of doing. But come together so much the more as we see the day if Christ approaching. We need to allow ourselves to be placed in the body exactly where God wants us using the gifts he has uniquely gifted us with and not try to place ourselves. I love the quote from Pastor Bill Hybels of Willow Creek “The local church is the hope of the world”. The local church really does matter!

This session encourages us to eradicate negativity in our worlds and to allow your faith to rise in situations that you feel are out of control. Instead of telling God about your mountain (your problems) why not try telling your mountain about your God?!

The Christian life is compared to taking part in a race and aiming for the prize the Goal. This session will cover what the true goals are that God has set for each of us. And what are the important key elements of the training and how our mind-set (Attitudes) is one of the most crucial areas which needs transforming in order to reach the Goals God has set out for His church.

The conclusion of the series ends with the subject of mercy as this was the thing in the parable that defined what made him the man’s neighbour, “The one who had mercy on him” v37. What is mercy? Where does it come from? How do we get it? This teaching will encourage the Church to step out from sympathy to mercy. We conclude with a commitment to our role that Jesus gave to the expert in the law, “Go and do likewise” v37.

Living in the Blessed Unity of the People of God in Psalm 133:1-3 It says: Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for the people and various expressions of church to live together in unity, because that’s where the Lord commands the blessing. If we will speak the same language from a positive stance (unlike the negative stance in Genesis 11 Tower of Babel…V6 …The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them) and live as one, then we too can accomplish the impossible. WE NEED TO DO IT… IN HARMONY WITH EACH OTHER…..LISTENING AND WATCHING FOR THE BATON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT…TO BRING US IN AT THE RIGHT TIME….TO MAKE THE MOST MELODIC SOUND HERE ON EARTH THAT EVEN THE ANGELS WILL SIT UP AND TAKE NOTE! “A visibly united church speaks more powerfully to the world than we can ever imagine.” Archbishop Justin Welby

Caring is costly because when you care emotional attachments are created that you pay for in your soul. The Samaritan cared and it cost him, inconvenience, time, money and possibly his reputation with other Samaritans who would have frowned on his aid given to a Jew. When we really care our whole lives become entwined with others, it is costly but it is exactly what Jesus did. The Pharisee and Levite did not care for the man, they cared about themselves.

What part does inconvenience play in the life of a Christian? What are the main barriers that stop us getting involved in the lives of hurting people? Why is loneliness such a disease in our society when we can split the atom and put a man on the moon! This session will address these issues and provoke us to not look the other way but get involved, we need to make the first move in engagement in people’s worlds, and discover how fear and bad teaching has kept us away from radical intervention in people’s lives.
