Learning from John 15:18-25, we hear Jesus warn His disciples that the world will hate and persecute them. Jesus explains that this hostility is inevitable because believers no longer belong to the sinful systems of the world, having been chosen by Christ. Ultimately, the world's hatred of Christians is a direct rejection of God Himself.

This week, we continued through the Vine and Fruit teaching of Jesus, looking closer at verses 9-17 of Chapter 15.   We learned that keeping God's commandments is a mark of our response to His love for us; our response must be unshakable trust and unwavering obedience, which bring joy to us and others. In this weeks sermon, we hear Jesus declare his final of the seven great I AM statements , "I AM the True Vine." In this passage, Jesus shares the parable of the vine and the branches, explaining that He is the true vine and God the Father is the vinedresser. In this week's sermon we hear Jesus' final comforting message to His disciples before going to the cross, offering them the Holy Spirit, eternal peace, and the assurance of His victory over the sin and death. That comfort is also for us as believers in Christ.

In this week's sermon from the Gospel of John, chapter 14, verses 15-24, we hear Jesus and His promises that the disciples genuine love for Him will be shown through obedience to His commands. In return, He promises to send the Holy Spirit to guide and dwell within them forever. This applies to us today as the Church and followers of Christ.

In this week's sermon from the Gospel of John, Chapter 14, Jesus perfectly reveals the Father to those who believe. This is why Jesus said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’” (John 14:9). As the passage closes we also learn that Jesus answers our Prayers based upon His will, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

The Gospel of John 14:1-6 is a message of comfort and divine assurance, given by Jesus in the Upper Room to his troubled disciples facing his imminent departure. Jesus commands them to trust in Him just as they do God, promising a future home in Heaven and declaring Himself the exclusive way, truth, and life to the Father. Guest Speaker: Kobe Whitlock

The Gospel of John, Chapter 13 closes with both highs and lows. In this week's message we see the betrayal of Judas, followed by Jesus's command to love one another, before we hear that Peter will deny Christ three times. These themes are an excellent reflection of our own fickleness towards Christ and a reminder that in spite of that, Jesus loves us unconditionally.

Jumping back into the Gospel of John this week, we continue our study of the Upper Room Discourse and Jesus's example of service to his disciples through the act of washing feet. Through this simple, lowly act of service, we are reminded that as Christians we are called to equally serve both the body of believers and those that have not yet heard and believed the Gospel.

On our Covenant Sunday one year anniversary, we take a brief break from our study through the Gospel of John, to dive into 1 Corinthians 1:18-25. We hear that The Gospel of Jesus Christ holds us together as Christians more than anything else. Guest Speaker: Kobe Whitlock.
