III. Through faith, we have the blessing of Abraham and can pass on a legacy of blessing.

Application:

God is sovereign over our dreams and the events of this world.

God’s sovereignty and His goodness cannot be separated.

We respond to God’s goodness by showing goodness to others.

We show goodness to others because God has given us the greatest good: Himself.

1. Joseph serves from the love of the Lord (not for it)

2. Joseph credits God as the giver of interpretation for dreams

Three ways to test a dream (or other spiritual revelation or word)

Test it against all of Scripture.

Pray about it, but don’t force it.

Tell the dream to trusted Christian friends.

3. Joseph’s message only declared what would happen; Jesus’s message has the power to change what will happen.
