Good Morning Kings Crossing and welcome to Sunday Service online! We’re glad that during this time of social distancing we are still able to use technology to gather as a church family. This week we’ll continue our study in the book of John and end our time with a moment for communion. Welcome to Kings Crossing!

Welcome to Sunday Morning service online! This Sunday the 29th at 10:30am, we’re coming together to worship as a church family even though we’re still all social distancing. As we sing, worship, and share, we pray that you feel the presence of God from wherever you are watching the service. Welcome to Kings Crossing!

Even though we are all practicing social distancing, God brings us together in many different ways. Thankfully, we get to use technology to come together and be a family. This Sunday, Dr. Les Maloney provides a devotion to remind us that God is our savior now and in the future. Stick around to the end of the video for a communion prayer.

In the blend of beauty and tragedy that make up our world, we cannot always answer “Why?” but we CAN look for God to be at work in our situation. In the story of the man who was born blind, we see that going through hardship lets us get down to a level of certainty which allows us to say, “This one thing I do know!”

Jesus heals a lame man on the Sabbath. In so doing, he pulls the rug out from under many assumptions of his day about what it meant to be virtuous while simultaneously claiming equality with God. In this passage, Jesus refuses to let us put him into the easy boxes of “life guru” or “traveling philosopher.” No, he claims to be Lord, and as Lord, he is also Judge. Our desire to experience his blessings should be followed by our life’s expression of gratitude and obedience.

You’ve never met a person in whom God doesn’t see potential. In John 4, we meet a woman who is an outcast with a checkered past. When we see Jesus’ interaction with her and the way her response fills his heart, we learn the importance of our role in helping in God’s work, both to plant seeds of faith and to harvest the experiences of seeing people reach maturity. The “living” water Jesus offers becomes a well within us, bubbling up into eternal life.

Nicodemus is a religious person, but the scope of his purpose, his understanding, even his help seems focused in this world. Jesus is saying, “You need to be born not only again, but FROM ABOVE.” Rather than getting bogged down into the literal absurdity of a second physical birth, Jesus invites him to think about heavenly things.
