Delayed obedience is still disobedience. It is just a more socially acceptable way of saying no. The story of Jonah is not just about a man and a whale. It is about every time we have chosen our comfort, our logic, or our timing over what God has clearly asked of us. And it is about a grace that refuses to stop pursuing us.
