Matthew 5:13-16 Jesus uses the metaphor of salt to describe believers. At first glance it is easy to wonder why Salt would be the chosen mineral or spice to be used. Why not sugar? 

The more we look at salt the more we see how perfect the anology is to describe believers, and the more we understand the implications of what we are meant to be doing as Christians. 

Mom - It's a word with so much connotation and expectation, but despite our different understandings or context for what a mom is.

On this Mother's day we honour what it means to be a Mom in the church, and the heritage of faith that we may have from previous, or can set for future generations. 

When Jesus is talking about going to his Father in John 14 he makes a statement that whoever believes in him will do not only the things that he (Jesus) has been doing but even greater things. 

Understandably so when you consider all that Jesus had done, but what is he really saying when he says "greater"?
