Easter leads us torejoice in Christ’s victory over death and sin, and the empty tomb reminds us that evil and injustice do not have the finalword. Today, we hear the Easter story from the Gospel of Luke in which the women discover an empty tomb where they are challenged not to look for the living among the dead. In addition, two disciples who are deeply grieved and sadencounter the risen Christ in the breaking of bread. A table becomes a place of hope, restoration, and joy! Join Rev. James Preston and Kingswood Church as we come near to the end of our journey into the season of Lent, a40-day period of prayer, reflection, confession, fasting, and devotion. We also conclude oursermon series, Meeting Jesus at the Table. Throughout scripture, some of the most powerfulmoments in Jesus’ ministry happen around a table. Whether He’s breaking bread with others,feeding the multitudes, or sharing His last meal with the disciples, Jesus uses the table as aplace of transformation, grace, and community. Today, we hear the “table story” of beinganointed by Mary with costly perfume, only to then lead us into Jerusalem with the waving ofpalm branches and the shouts of “HOSANNA” which means “God save us!”. From this day, we journey with Jesus toward the cross.May your Holy Week journey be meaningful and life-changing.
