Clint Wyllie is currently the lead pastor at Central Houston Methodist Church and previously an associate pastor here at Kingwood Methodist. We discuss how God asks us to trust Him, especially when we don’t understand what the plan is. It is comfortable to sit and stay in the familiar, but we must overcome the fear of uncertainty and all the unknowns and trust the promise that God has for us.  In this journey, Clint has had the opportunity to visit with GMC churches in Tanzania through his role as a member of the Trinity Conference International Ministries Committee. We discuss the opportunities the GMC is creating to connect churches in the United States to churches across the world.

In Luke 24:33-49 the resurrected Christ continues to pursue his disciples. In this passage we find Luke’s commissioning of the disciples to preach repentance and forgiveness.

In Matthew’s account of the entrance into Jerusalem we find multiple references to that Jesus fulfill the messianic hope – just not in the way that we often expect.

Kimberly Pellicore is the author of A Guide for Lewy Body Dementia Caregivers: Caring with Compassion.  Today we discuss the uncertainties that come with the diagnosis of Lewy Body and other dementia related diseases. Kimberly shares her journey through the caregiving process and how God’s light kept shining a guiding light for her to follow even when the chaos of the disease threatened to shut it out. No darkness on earth can expel God’s capacity to give live giving light, even in the darkest valleys of an incessant disease like dementia.

In Matthew 14 we read of Jesus’ encounter with disciples as he comes walking to them on the water. Today we learn from the disciples, from Peter, and from the Psalmist to “Raphah Yada.”

On our debut episode of Overcoming Certainty, Kimberly talks with Nanette Lynch and Marla Wortman about J's House, a residential treatment center for boys. We talk about the difficulties in the foster care system and how God has worked in each of their lives to bring them together to co-found this ministry. Marla sits as the Executive Director and Nanette is a member of the board of J's House. We hope you enjoy this episode and find something to be curious about.
