Tahir Majithia from Prime Capital Real Estate joined TSB to discuss the new Dubai rent payment system, that allows rent payments through direct debit instead of cheques.
The new system allows tenants and landlords to configure the rent payment schedule during the contract creation or renewal process
Dubai’s real estate rental online registration system Ejari is now “fully integrated” with a direct debit system (DDS).
the Dubai Land Department (DLD) had announced that the UAE Central Bank’s DDS eliminates the need for tenants to submit post-dated rental cheques.
Annual rents in Dubai are typically paid in two, four or six instalments via post-dated cheques.
The new system allows tenants and landlords to configure the rent payment schedule during the contract creation or renewal process.
This will facilitate recurrent payments from the tenants’ bank accounts, according to a manual issued by the DLD earlier this week.

Tres Marias' founder Maria Pavani is a Dubai success story and shared the secrets of her success and how she has overcame her challenges with Neeil and Kitch.
Maria started Tres Marias Coffee in the UAE, specializing in the production of innovative, environmentally conscious, and high-demand coffee.
Initially, she took the leap of faith and moved to Dubai in 2013 to work as a head barista in a five-star hotel.
In between jobs, Maria enhanced her capabilities through training, getting certifications from main coffee institutes such as the Coffee Quality Institute in the USA and Specialty Coffee Association in the UK and learning more about the whole supply chain.
Maria eventually became regarded as one of the pioneers in the region’s coffee industry bringing innovative and authentic brands to the market. She also started traveling across the globe as a qualified Sensory Judge for the World Barista Championship which selects the best baristas in the world.
In June 2019, Maria decided she was ready to take the plunge so she brewed her first cup for her own business that she named Tres Marias, the Portuguese term for the constellation, Orion. Ever since, the company has been shining and enriching the coffee bean culture with her brand promise of ‘from seed to earth, from earth to bean, from bean to cup and back down to earth.’
