Lobo Tiggre is holding the biggest cash position of his life, roughly 80%, and even after gold's correction, he still isn't buying.
Speaking with Kitco News at the Rule Symposium 2026, the Independent Speculator publisher said his system triggered a broad sell into the rebound after gold's peak, not at the top, and not in January as is often assumed. That left him "locked and loaded" for the next cyclical low, and unmoved by gold near $4,000. "Less high is not low," he said, noting the miners were built on sub-$2,000 gold and are "printing cash" today.
His base case is "a period of correction consolidation" before the next move higher, which he stresses is "my expectation, not my prediction." But he won't rule out a deeper fall: a drawdown like 2011 or 1980 would drop gold into the high $2,000s, and "if it drops under 3000, I'm just buying."
Until then, he's not buying gold or silver stocks. Copper is his highest-conviction trade, but at "six and change" he's waiting for an AI-driven pullback. Last week he made his first stock purchase in months, an oil name, while uranium, already his largest position, sits below its long-term contract price, setting up a potential "snap move up."

Gold-stock sentiment just hit a level Adrian Day has never seen in 50 years of managing money, one day two weeks ago, not a single investor surveyed was bullish.
Speaking with Kitco News at the Rule Symposium 2026 in Boca Raton, the Adrian Day Asset Management chairman said miner bullishness has collapsed to around 7%, against a typical 60/40 split. He calls it "the worst sentiment I have ever seen in my 50 years managing money in any sector at any time," and argues it has left the big producers historically cheap, a Scotiabank study places them in their lowest valuation quartile in 70 years.
Day, a value investor who says he is "not in the business of predicting," expects generalist money to rotate into gold once the S&P stops climbing, and points to the rotation already underway, in the four weeks before the conference, Microsoft, Amazon, and Nvidia all fell 15 to 20% while the S&P dropped just 2%. Still, he warns gold "could easily break the last low and go down to 3,600" first.

Rick Rule sold most of his physical silver this year and moved the money into silver mining stocks, a lesson in how a 50-year veteran actually positions.
Speaking with Kitco News at the Rule Symposium 2026 in Boca Raton, Rule said he sold roughly 80% of his physical silver after its parabolic run and rotated into the miners. "You need to sell parabolic up charts because they resolve to the downside," he said. The stocks were "priced discounting $35 silver in a $75 market," offering better upside, sideways, and downside than the metal itself.
Gold is a different bucket. Rule says he saves in gold, keeps liquidity in dollars, invests in senior gold stocks, and speculates in juniors. He placed the gold bull market in its "sixth inning" with a decade to run, and reaffirmed his call that the dollar will lose 75% of its purchasing power over 10 years, which could see gold triple. He also argued that real inflation runs far hotter than the official number, calling the CPI "the CP-lie" and putting the true rate for the average family closer to 8%.

The spot gold price everyone watches all day may tell you almost nothing about whether you can actually get an ounce in your hands. That gap, Lynette Zang argues, is the real story.
Speaking with Kitco News at the Rule Symposium 2026, Zang said the paper-physical split is now visible worldwide, from premiums paid in the East to Hong Kong and Singapore building their own gold clearing systems. She traces it to the 1970s spot market, which she says trained the public to treat gold as a trade rather than money. Her message: "you need to think about gold and silver as money and not a trade."
Zang also warned that any future gold confiscation would run through the depositories where most metal is now held, at a Wall Street price she says understates its true value, and argued that stablecoins, which she calls corporate debt, are "a ploy to create an artificial market for the dollar" and fresh buyers for US Treasuries.

Keith Neumeyer says silver's run to $121 this year pushed the physical market to the brink, and that the metal has now found its floor.
Speaking with Kitco News at the Rule Symposium 2026, the First Majestic Silver CEO, who called $100 silver back in 2012 when it traded in the teens, said the spike exposed how thin the real market is. "The whole system was really on the verge of breaking," he said, pointing to surging lease rates, margin calls, and refiners that stopped buying.
After a roughly 50% correction to around $60, Neumeyer said, "I think we've seen the lows," and called the market "two years into a 10-year bull market." He credited silver's move to the US designating it a critical metal, and said the short position that once capped prices, once as high as 800 million ounces, has largely gone, with paper players "now getting on the long side."

Bob Quartermain says the world's great gold deposits are getting harder to find, and the price will have to rise to make up for it.
Speaking with Kitco News at the Rule Symposium 2026, the Dakota Gold CEO and newly named Order of Canada member said the remaining deposits are deeper, lower-grade, and far costlier to find. "Those elephants at depth are rare, and they cost hundreds of millions of dollars to find," he said. "We're just gonna have to see a higher gold price to achieve the amount of production that we're currently seeing now."
Quartermain called the recent pullback "a breather in the bull market," pointing to central bank demand as the structural break from the speculative 2011 run. He noted gold has now passed US Treasuries as a reserve asset and China's holdings have grown from 33 million ounces to over 75 million, and explained why US gold output has fallen from over 10 million ounces a year to four or five since the Homestake mine closed.

Aris Mining pulls gold out of the ground for about $1,500 an ounce and sold it last quarter for about $4,445. So while the Rule Symposium 2026 debates royalties and streaming deals, Oliver Dachsel gives a one-word answer to whether Aris needs outside capital: no.
The SVP Capital Markets at Aris Mining joins Kitco News from the symposium, on the day the company reported first-half production up 31% and revenue topping $680 million.
Dachsel calls the sector "a little bit like a coiled spring," arguing the drivers of the debasement trade "if anything, have intensified." He walks through the path from 257,000 ounces last year to 500,000 by 2028, self-funded from $425 million in cash and margins "solidly above 50%." Plus: Marmato's first gold pour "on track" for Q4, what Colombia's incoming pro-mining government means for Soto Norte, and why he says Aris "trades at a discount to its peers."

Dr. Nomi Prins says the forces driving capital into hard assets are accelerating, and the Fed has become the only backstop for U.S. debt.
Speaking with Kitco News at the Rule Symposium 2026, the Prinsights Global founder and Permanent Distortion author reaffirmed her call for $6,000 gold by year-end. "Does the United States have a debt crisis? The United States has a Fed," she said.
Prins also pushed back on the market's read of the new Fed chair: "I think ultimately the Fed will have to reduce rates in order for us to service our debt. I think that Kevin Warsh is waiting for that moment." She pointed to China cutting its Treasury holdings from $1.3 trillion to $620 billion in favor of gold, and five billion ounces of paper silver trading in the SLV ETF alone against roughly 800 million mined each year, as signs the hard asset supercycle is still early.

Gold just had its worst quarter in over a decade, and the man who moves real physical metal across the counter says buyers did the exact opposite of what makes sense. When the metal went on sale, they walked away.
Rich Checkan, President and COO of Asset Strategies International, has spent 30 years on the order counter, the buying, the selling, the panic that never shows up on a price chart. He joins Kitco News from the Rick Rule Symposium 2026 for a ground-level read on what retail actually did through the sell-off.
Checkan argues that "gold goes on sale and everybody stands on the sidelines, or they divest," and says contracting premiums and junk silver selling below spot are the real tell of "a hated market," not an overheating one. He lays out the one question every buyer should ask before handing over a dollar, warns which dealers to run from, and explains why he still calls physical metal "the most liquid asset on Earth."

Gold just closed its worst quarter in more than 13 years, then roared back above $4,100 as the new Fed chair signaled he may ease off. Is the gold selloff over, and is gold a buy now?
This week in focus: what actually turned gold around, why the world's central banks never stopped buying, and what happens next, with Rick Rule, Jeff Sarti, and Chris Vermeulen. Plus, Kitco goes live from Rick Rule's Natural Resource Investing Symposium in Boca Raton on Monday.
Anchor Jeremy Szafron breaks down the week: gold's worst quarter in 13 years and the sharp reversal, the Warsh comment that JPMorgan said sent the debasement trade roaring back, the soft jobs report that cooled Fed rate-hike bets, the AI and chip selloff that rotated money into defensives and gold, why Western ETF selling met relentless central-bank buying, the gold miners priced as if gold were only $3,350, and the signals to watch from here. Not investment advice, you decide.
Rick Rule will be hosting the 2026 Rule Symposium on Natural Resource Investing, July 6-10 in Boca Raton, and Kitco will be there on the ground. The in-person event is sold out, but you can join the livestream and access the replays through the year here: (https://cvent.me/XOqdLa?via=Kitco-News)
