March 25, 2022 Students at Minnesota State Mankato are conducting hands-on research that makes a difference. Meet MSU senior, Rachel VanKeulen, a biochemistry major who is studying brain cancer with her MSU Professor, Dr. Samantha Katner.  

VanKeulen will present her research at the prestigious Undergraduate Research Symposium at MNSU on April 12, 2022.

March 25, 2022 "Not Fade Away: Dark Tourism & City Government" is the title of a presentation by Dr. Beth Wielde Heidelberg, a professor of Urban & Regional Studies at Minnesota State, Mankato. Heidelberg  discusses how cities can make a tragedy into a positive tour attraction. The lecture is Tuesday, March 29, 2022 as part of the 42nd Annual Frontier Forum at MNSU.

March 23, 2022 Julie Curtis is a savvy executive recruitment professional and entrepreneur in the food and retail industry. With ties to Owatonna, Curtis graduated from Minnesota State Mankato in 1996 and tells her inspiring story of how she started her own business which was named to Forbes‘ list of America’s Best Executive Recruiting Firms 2021, She was the keynote speaker for the Richard and Mary Schmitz Food Entrepreneur Lectureship at MNSU on March 23, 2022.

March 23, 2022 Psychologist and author, Dr. Abigail Gerwitz, is a keynote speaker for the upcoming Health and Biomedical Sciences Summit at Minnesota State University, Mankato on March 30, 2022. She is also the author of "When the World Feels Like a Scary Place" and discusses how to talk with your children during these stressful times.

March 24, 2022 Minnesota State University, Mankato Geography Professor, Dr. Phillip Larson talks about our current understanding of the birth and evolution of rivers and their valleys. He presented his research at the 48th annual Douglas R. Moore Faculty Research Lecture at MNSU on March 21, 2022.

March 21, 2022 Conflict in the Ukraine discussion with Dr. Jameel Haque, Director of the Kessel Peace Institute at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Dr. Haque talks about a Round table discussion the public is invited to on this subject, on Wed.  March 15, 2022 Assistant Professor in Health Sciences at Minnesota State Mankato discusses the idea behind the establishment of the Center for Rural Behavioral Health which will open this fall to address the shortage of mental health care in outstate Minnesota.
