Irene Andrews with the League of Women Voters of Bell County

"Our republic is only as strong as our democracy, and our democracy can't be strong unless we all participate."

Irene Andrews, League of Women Voters of Bell County

The League of Women Voters was founded in February of 1919, more than a year before the 19th Amendment was certified. Through advocacy, education, and litigation at the local, state, and national levels, they empower voters and defend democracy.

In our local area, the League of Women Voters of Bell County works to protect and expand our voting rights. This week, Irene Andrews stopped by to talk to Laury Sisko about ways you can get involved.
