My research into the earthly family tree of the Meier family, from which you are descended,
yielded findings which led back to the Hospitaller Brotherhood, which was founded in Jerusalem
in 1048, by some merchants from Amalfi, headed by a very wealthy, benevolent early family
tree-keeper with the then already well-known name 'Mejr'.
He was a former personality on your part, so his family tree lineage also leads directly to
you.
From this lineage there were also two descendants who joined the Knights of Malta at a
later time.
From the name Mejr developed the short-lived name Mejrer, which resulted from a later
emigration of the descendants in 1104 to Malta in the Mediterranean Sea.
However, the name was quickly forgotten and changed again when the emigrants moved
further north, where the name Mejrer was, for the sake of simplicity, quickly and without being
able to naturalise, transformed into the name Meyger, which existed in Central Europe, and later
into Meyer, Maier, Major, Meiur and Meier.
This is the origin of the family tree of your family and also of you, which I have clarified up to
your ancestor 'Mejr', by whom the grouping of the Hospitallers was brought into being.
