This Sunday we will hear from Pastor Jason on Exodus 13 on God’s requirement for the Israelites to consecrate their firstborn. In ancient times and in some cultures still today, the hope and future of the family rested on the firstborn. Are you a firstborn laden down with responsibility? Or are you somewhere else in the birth order and feel a little resentment toward the firstborn for their bossiness? Good News! No matter where you are in the birth order, Jesus is a greater firstborn who is a good example and responsible brother for you, without making you feel put down or micromanaged. Giving the first to the Lord in Exodus 13 points us to Jesus.
