In this episode of Fairy Gaymothers Sorta, Kat and Hunter enrol in another instalment of their extremely rigorous (and completely self-appointed) curriculum: Know Thy Shepherd. This week, they examine who we’re really taking advice from, and ask what happens when the loudest voices in the room are also the most misguided?

First on the agenda, Kat and Hunter report back with their recurring fieldwork segment: The Crash, Bit, Bang. Hunter crashes out over St. Patrick’s Day and the alarming influx of women posting their deeply questionable boyfriends (be serious), while Kat finds herself endlessly entertained by men attempting (earnestly, yet unsuccessfully) to understand diva cups. Points for effort, perhaps.

From there, we move into the main lecture: the manosphere. Inspired by Louis Theroux’s Inside the Manosphere documentary, Kat and Hunter unpack the rise of red pill content and the pipeline drawing young men into these digital echo chambers. What makes these spaces so enticing? Why are they resonating now? And more importantly, how do we begin to challenge and dismantle them without further alienating the very people caught inside? The girls explore the emotional undercurrents, cultural influences, and possible paths forward in a world where guidance is increasingly coming from questionable shepherds.
