  • 22. Choosing Life with Jana Seinen
Today, we are talking with my cousin-in-law, Jana Seinen. She is a mom of 3, an RN, a hard working ranchers wife and a woman and friend that I admire very much.
In this episode she shares her story of receiving a very difficult diagnosis
for their youngest son Sawyer when she was only halfway through her pregnancy.
Sawyer was given a diagnosis of heterotaxy syndrome and faced heart failure, surgery and many other challenges upon birth. Their journey has not been easy but as you listen to Jana share, you’ll hear very clearly how actively living out their faith in God has given them incredible peace.

  • 20. Acknowledging Our Anger Triggers with Wendy Speake
One of the most difficult issues to talk about in motherhood is anger. It is a bigger issue for some than others of course but we all struggle with our own "big emotions" at times of stress and frustration. Yelling and harsh words cause more damage than good and we often feel we are failing the minute we lose control of our emotions. The coronavirus quarantine that we all currently face is giving mothers many more opportunities to face the triggers that bring out an angry response!
My guest today is Wendy Speake. She is a wife and mom to 3 boys. She is the co-author of several books including Triggers, Parenting Scripts and the 40 Day Sugar Fast! She is a speaker and podcast host and I know you're going to love this conversation today on learning our triggers and taking control of our angry responses. There is so much to take away from this episode so make sure to grab a pen and take some notes!

  • 13. Anxiety and God's Sufficient Grace with Gretchen Saffles
Joining me today for the third episode in our series on maternal mental health is Gretchen Saffles! She is a wife & mother of 2 boys, a writer, speaker and an artist. She is also the founder of Well Watered Women, a company and ministry that provides beautiful tools and resources for studying God’s word and being well equipped for the calling he’s placed on each of our lives.
We talk about the anxiety that she’s struggled with over the past few years and the way she’s learned to trust God, allow others to speak truth into her life and make healthy changes for herself and her family.
I really admire the beautiful way that she points us back to Jesus again and again while recognizing the need we sometimes have for the help God provides through doctors and other professionals!
We discuss the shame that comes with anxiety, how being aware of our limitations is important for mental health and why keeping our eyes on Jesus and being well watered truly makes all the difference in this life.
