The latest Consumer Price Index report is out this morning, and it shows inflation continues to rise in the US. The CPI was up 4.2% in May from a year earlier. That's the highest since April 2023, and up from 2.4% before the war with Iran started. The increase was mainly driven by energy prices, which rose 3.9%. But there is some good news, including food prices rising just 0.1%. University of Alabama at Birmingham Economics Professor Dr. Ben Meadows talks about it with L.A.'s Morning News.
