“Heroes are not made. They are born out of circumstances and rise to the occasion when their spirit can no longer coexist with the hypocrisy of injustice to others.”
― Shannon L. Alder
They are forged, like a raw piece of iron; in fire, hammered and folded again and again, until the raw material is beautiful, sharp, and useful.
But we don’t have to wait until we are forged and made into something new by a circumstance. I mean you can wait around until the right circumstance presents itself, or you can decide that you are going to prepare for a time when a hero is needed to stand up and do the right thing now.
It starts by deciding that you are ready to make the world a better place by first bettering yourself. By placing yourself in the forge, to be heated and folded, hammered and sharpened. The really great thing is that you get to be both the raw materials and the Smith!
Those considered to be the greatest of Humankind have a few things in common; strength of character and nobility in their hearts. This is where we start, by making sure we have a solid foundation in which to build.
