Godwin Wanga started Jabez Orphanage at the age of 22. The Jabez Orphanage was started in 2014 and is located in Bumlimbo- Kenya in Kakamega County. Godwin Wanga left his studies at the University to care of the homeless children. Together they are a family. He currently has cows, chicken and vegetation to help with supplying food for the children. Feeding 35 kids takes a lot of hard work and resources. Right now the Jabez Orphanage has 35+ children that are supported by Godwin Wanga and his two parents. In total there are 10 kids who can attend school, and 25 who are not in school due to lack of funding for school fees. The kids in the orphanage range in ages between 4-13 years old. Godwin Wanga said that "Due to insufficient funds the kids lack more, I really request that the kids can get help with food due to the fact they can only provide one meal daily. Please help donate so they can eat twice a day. We lack food due to lack of enough support. The kids also lack a good place to sleep and shelter. I request that if possible they can get mattresses and a house to help, it would be great to be able to provide them a good housing structure due to the cold temperatures they stay in that causes them malaria and other diseases. I am self employed and I do the farming to feed the kids and get some support from friend. My goals for the orphanage is to build them a school so they can get quality education and improve the skills and knowledge. Hopes for the school to support the talents so that it can benefit them in the future. One of my goals is the water project for the school so that the kids can drink clean water and help the society avoid spreading diseased through dirty water."
