MASTERS OF CHANGE 18 * 14th NOV 2018
Katie Sarah changed her life forever when she said yes to a camping trip involving abseiling, and also joining a climbing session at a local gym. This led her to eventually climbing the seven highest mountains on seven continents as well as the seven highest volcanic peaks – the famous SEVEN – SEVEN.
She talks about how in her late 20s she used to run a lot, to try and get a break from the demands of raising a family and eventually she progressed from this to running a marathon and also an ironman triathlon.
After beginning with a trek in Bolivia, she eventually progressed to Everest, which then gave her much needed confidence to climb at altitude. She talks about an incredible trek where she was in a Russian cargo plane, then landed on blue ice and a further 5 hour flight to the base of the mountain in Antartica.
Nothing stops this driven , motivated woman, shes come back from a fused ankle, has trekked with her children and believes that fear needs to be managed, she develops solutions and options in order to combat any fears that arise.
She has a very interesting method for helping her sleep and relax, she listens to audio recordings of the TV series , The Black Adder.
On top of all this she runs her own business and is studying a Human Movement degree.
This mother of 3 and true Master of Change was one of my best guests ever and was a pure delight to meet and have a such an insightful and inspiring conversation.

MASTERS OF CHANGE 17 * 17 NOV 2018
Simon began his career in banking and was then given the shock of his life when he was conscripted into the army to begin service during the Vietnam war.
Our conversation starts with the conscription of a young man into the (now known) horrific Vietnam war. These “boys” were excited and keen to join and we discuss these thoughts and the culture of the times that created this scenario.
Simon believes, “no-one is unharmed by war” and in fact he returned a changed man. He struggled to settle into his bank job and saw it as frivolous and the leaders there uninspiring and demotivating. He looked for a change and thus began his life of going after what he craved and becoming the person he was meant to be.
He built his first business up over 15 years and also raised four great children and has now been married for over 48 years, the secret, support each other, be respectful and dont force any issues.
At 70 years of age hes found some new loves, fitness, healthy eating and going to the gym. He loves everything about the gym especially the feeling after a good workout. I love his attitude of just getting there and aiming for ten minutes and then weigh up how hes feeling, most of the time he will stay and finish the session.
Hes a true gentleman, an incredibly hard worker and I admire how hes aging with absolute class and making an effort to get the most out of life by continually challenging himself, continually moving and changing, eating well and keeping fit.

MASTERS OF CHANGE 16 * 31 OCTOBER 2018
Rod “Rocket” Campbell had one of the greatest mentors he could ever ask for, his Dad. As Rocket says, his Dad was a “Beautiful Man”, “not became, always was”. I love this about Rocket, his love for his dad, his passion, his love and empathy for others, and his desire to help everyone and help them to work harder and develop.
Thats Leadership, thats Rocket.
Hes a past AFL league footballer (in the old SANFL days), hes a Fireman (an Officer), a Coach, and a wonderful father of 5 fantastic children. He talks about his Dad in the highest esteem and about all the other amazing mentors in his life, how he found them and the influence they had on him.
We talk about how in each challenge he undertakes he strives to ensure that he leaves the place better than he found it, and how others should do this and also strive to look for opportunities to make soemones day better.
He sought out coaches, such as Denis Pagan, Charlie Walsh and Ric Charlesworth and managed to get them to sit and talk to him for hours so he could learn from them and improve his coaching skills. Thats Rocket, hes enagaging, infectious and easy to talk and listen to, with stories and quotes that could keep you both interested and entertained for hours.
We discuss his leadership roles within the Fire Service Road Awareness Program(RAP) where he worked for 10 years with students about the risks associated with driving on our roads. Hes so passionate about helping to educate our young drivers and reducing the fatalities on our roads.
We talk about his marriage and relationship troubles, coaching young children as well as the Emergency Services Combined Football Team, and about what hes learned about being more selfless as he grows older which ultimately is a more balanced way to live.
His Dad taught him how to be selfless, and Im sure his famous football father would be extremely proud of the man hes become, hes truly a beautiful human being. An endearing term that he regularly uses to describe his Dad.

MASTERS OF CHANGE 15 * 20 OCTOBER 2018
Kent worked in Finance for many years, he used to try get his fellow workers to run at lunch time and also spent a lot of his time as a volunteer Youth Development Coach with the Sturt Junior Football Club.
There was a fitness coach inside him wanting to break free, and when a redundancy package was dangled in front of him, he nervously accepted it.
He started by studying his Level 1 & 2 in Strength & Conditioning and also doing the Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness, enabling him to initially work as a Personal trainer even though that was not his goal.
With further studies, a Sport & Exercise degree, he then gained the experience and cudos he needed to earn respect in this field and began to collect more steady and involved work.
We talk about his pathway and the challenges he faced, including some self doubt and possibly mild depression about being retrenched and struggling to secure full time employment.
Kent has also completed 24 ironman triathlons, including Hawaii, showing his work ethic and level of determination.
At 52 years of age, hes still learning and only recently achieved a PB in the ironman.
We talk about all facets of the day of a Strength & Conditioning Coach and the character and personality traits required in order to succeed in this field.
He now leads a very different lifestyle to that of a 9 to 5 banker, a lifestyle that is much more in tune with who he was meant to be. Kent is a true Master of Change.

MASTERS OF CHANGE 14 * 3 OCTOBER 2018
Jeff “STORK “Leach is a true Master of Change. He spent 32 years in a bank, harbouring a secret desire to become a musician.
He started with a few guitar lessons and then began to play guitar as much as he could, throwing all his energy into his passion that he was hoping would one day become his life. He would watch live music like it was an obsession, becoming familiar in those surroundings and gaining an understanding of how musicians perform and live.
We talk about how he finally made the leap of faith and left the bank. He now leads a simple life, but miles away from the pressure and routine of 9 to 5 work and lives a lifestyle where “music feeds his soul”.
We talk about how his Dad left him at age 9, he was lost, but found a way to move forward on his own, but with the help of his great Mum, who never looked for another partner for the rest of her life.
His participation in a male weekend workshop where he had to take a good look at his inner self, led him to eventually reconnect with his father after many many years. He put his hand on his Dads heart and told him “I forgive you”.
He talked about one of his latest songs “Living the Dream” and gets the mic and guitar fired up and sings us this tune.
He loves Dylan, Cohen , Cash and many other great singer songwriters that inspire his writing and guitar playing.
Hes politically incorrect, incredibly passionate and talented, with a true wit and natural gift for writing quirky and meaningful lines.
This is STORK, a true character, raw and unplugged.
