This week we are resuscitating a belief in Hindu mythology that God is within. In these challenging times of the global pandemic, we are all questioning ourselves, where is God? Why is he not helping us through this? 

This narration help us in discovering answers to these questions.

We present short story of Dhruva in Konkani. From time immemorial  this story has been narrated to young children to evince values by way of morals.    It narrates them about how Dhruva practiced perseverance, devotion, steadfastness and fearlessness, in his quest to attain the highest position in his life, that of a Dhruva Nakshatram (in Sanskrit) that is a Pole Star - a blessed eternal existence by the grace of Lord Mahavishnu - which the scientists of today describe as Polaris, or the North Star.  

Because it never changes its position in the sky, when  the other stars do.

In our hindu culture, children whether a Boy or a Girl are considered a portrayal of Lord Balakrishna.  

There are 2 reasons for this, firstly whenever you call the name of the child, you inadvertently take the name of the God (as most of the children were named after the God and the Goddesses). Secondly it was easy to narrate the story of the omnipotent to the child  Today, I am going to narrate an old folklore from our local Konkani literature. In this folklore a mother and her son are analogised to Yashoda and Lord Krishna.
