Kostas Giannikoulis

As we enter that transitional time of year, when the cold and dark dwindle away and the rains of rebirth fall upon us: everything enters into this perfect state of renewal (physically and mentally). When making this mix, my intent was to make a soundtrack for the Season with purpose of embarking on new journeys, new projects with fresh ideas.

Spring 2021: 60+ Minutes of Light, Airy, and Uplifting Organic House music made for the Season. Artist & Remixes include: Lost Desert, Mass Digital, Volen Sentir, Double Touch, Tim Green, Lee Burridge, Victhor, Sebastien Leger, Newman I Love, Antrim, Pambouk, Edri Irmak, Shai T, Hermanez, M.O.S.

Feedback always appreciated / thanks for taking the time to listen. Hope you Enjoy!

Envision yourself walking outdoors one early morning on a dreary winter's day- cold crisp air / snow about to start falling and you’re off the grid (no cell phone / no wifi) Just you and your thoughts / absorbing the beauty that surrounds you. This is the mood I intended to bring through the Album Art and Music for my latest compilation.

Here is that WINTER soundtrack: A Melodic / Organic / Deep House mix with 18 tracks varying between 120-122bpms.

As we set to wrap up a crazy 2020 full of Coronavirus, Financial uncertainty, Isolation, etc.. It also marks that time of year which brings us closer to our friends and families.

Those feelings of comfort, joy, and laughter during the Holidays will be different for most of us with the social distancing throughout the world. Let’s do our part, connect with those people in our immediate & lost circles, dive into more meaningful conversation, and prepare ourselves for a fresh new start in 2021. We all have extra time to be better people!

Happy Holidays to all. Hope you enjoy the mix. Comments & Feedback always welcome :)

When I first began mixing, I always gravitated towards a deeper / melodic sound while trying to always make sure that each track mixed perfectly together, creating a smooth journey throughout the compilation of songs. As I continue my mixes, I find that the same format and theme keeps repeating itself. Maybe it’s just my way of expressing my deeper thoughts and feelings through music.

With that, I introduce a new mix series called: Introspect (Defined: to look into or examine one's own mind, feelings, etc.)

This mix (as most of mine) starts with a calm / serene tone and gradually ascends for 60 minutes until reaching a nice plateau of steady progressive house ending with an upbeat punch. 100+ Minutes / 119bpms / a melodic / deep / progressive house set.

Feedback always appreciated!

During this downtime / hiatus.. I am reminded of how important health and the relationships between our loved ones are. Not having that human connection and personal interaction has been truly missed.

As we get set to reopen here in Chicago, I am truly in grateful, appreciated, and excited for this Reopening.

This mix is just that: An uplifting, energetic, and driving set of progressive house serving as that fresh start.

The mix starts off bubbly and carefree and gets progressively stronger until a shift in mood at 50 minutes. There enters another reset and vibe similar to the beginning / a fresh start in “phase 2” of the set. In the end, I get darker and finish with a mellow track to close the mix.

118bpms / 100+ minutes / just enough to get you moving!

As always, thanks for listening and comments / feedback is always welcome! Cheers.

First and foremost: Thank you in advance for taking the time to listen. As always- I appreciate the feedback you give to help me better my future mixes. Looking forward to hearing back from you on this set.

April: The start of Spring and a fresh new beginning for life around us. As we continue to be limited in where we can go in our urban neighborhoods with this Epidemic- we can always find beauty in our surroundings with a quick escape or getaway . Whether its a road trip, hike, or merely putting your phone in Airplane Mode and getting off the grid- its a great moment to reset and rebalance our lives.

This mix somehow naturally lined up in 3 different moods with 30 min increments:

The beginning 30- Calm / Dark / Melodic: Basically my mood for the start of this month. Observant, Grateful and Appreciative of my surroundings.

The middle 30- An arrangement of Dark & Deep House tracks w/ hints of Vocals and middle eastern notes. Truly a building block for the finish.

The last 30— a Surge of Energy: Driving Progressive House music with a euphoric last track to bring it all back down.

April 2020: A tasteful arrangement of Melodic / Deep / and Progressive House to serve as that “zone out from day-to-day routine” soundtrack. 121bpms- enough to keep you moving. Enjoy the ride.

Over the past few weeks & leading up to this mix, I’ve pondered in awe of the thousands of people each day who continue to contract this coronavirus and those that continue to perish. It’s truly remarkable how this virus has spread across the world so quickly.

_______

Lessons that I have learned:

We as humans are not as invincible as we may think. A simple / single virus can possible destroy our entire race as we know it.

Appreciate those you have in your life. Be grateful for your health and chance to live freely every day.

Honor & Respect the land and earth that we use and keep sectors, life forms, & species untouched as God wanted them to be. We can't just "take what we want" to accommodate our selfish needs without consequences.

_______

As the world continues to try and suppress this epidemic - I will play my part to STAY HOME. This mix is a simple collection of melodic / deep / progressive house at a 116bpms - perfect for slowing down your life and appreciate your surroundings. With hints of various sounds from around the world- we can come together as one and spread the love through this form: Music.

Album Cover: Heart Reef, Australia— a true depiction of how beautiful this world is.

I hope you Enjoy. Please Stay Safe. Stay Home.
