Hey, what's up, everyone! It's your man KlueDaDon from the Kountry Fan Mail Podcast, and we've got another super dope episode for you. Join us in the amazing spaces of Capital Connection as we dive into a candid conversation with the talented Kinds Odd. Shout out to Bud, the owner, for hosting us in these incredible studios.
In this take-two edition, we kick things off with the famous first KFM questionβ and trust me, it's an unexpected one! YG's 'Tooted and Booted' brought those morning vibes. Big shout out to YG for crafting such a great track to start the day.
We also explore the journey from being born in OKC, moving to Sacramento, and the impact it had on Kinda Odds music. I owe it all to my mom's decision to move back to California, and it's been history ever since.
Going back about 10 years, my music journey began with a humble setup β a basic laptop, a trial version of Mixcraft, two mattresses, and a questionable mic. But as they say, 10,000 hours make a master, and we were putting in the work every morning.
Before diving into hip-hop, Kinda Odds roots were in pop and punk music, with influences from bands like Green Day and Nirvana. It was a transition fueled by the love for the unique sounds of artists like Jack and Hus.
Talking about my music style, I always aimed for something different. I don't create music about experiences I haven't lived, keeping it real without cap. A prime example is 'Pumpkin Spice,' a song that resonates with anyone who's been madly in love.
Reflecting on my catalog, one track that didn't quite hit the mark for me is 'High Ground' from my first EP. It's all part of the journey, right? On the flip side, I'm immensely proud of 'Pumpkin Spice' and 'Sworn.' The production magic, courtesy of Colt 45, brought those tracks to life.
The conversation takes an exciting turn as we discuss collaborations, and one that surprised many was with HP Fast. Fast came in with blazing speed, and the synergy was just on point.
Join us for this exclusive interview filled with laughter, music stories, and a vibe you won't find anywhere else. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe β your support means the world to us. Stay tuned for more dope episodes coming your way!
