The FAIR project was announced during Alt Ctrl, a side event at WordCamp Europe in Basel. FAIR aims to be a decentralized package manager for WordPress. Patricia recently posted a proposal on behalf of the GatherPress project to start a pilot program with a handful of WordPress meetups and use the GatherPress plugin as a replacement for Meetup.com, centrally hosted on WordPress.org.
