The sports history of New Mexico is entertaining and interesting. Alamogordo High School during the 50s thru the mid 70s was one of the top 3 ranked high schools in the United States. A convergence of scientist, the military, a strong business community and an appreciation for sports and education all were showcased there. That seemed to change decades later but the history and foundation is interesting and worthy of note.

Many on the right want to make you believe that the gender equity bills will destroy sports as we know it and destroy sexual identify. Anyone that digs into sports history, Title IX etc. knows the real culprit to gender equity in college sports is the influence of football and the dollars associated with it within the NCAA. Football drives all decision making and programs nationwide are being cut to preserve football. Track and Field, Cross Country, Soccer etc. are just a few of the boys programs being cut to preserve football but the powers that be pretend it is the result of Title IX and gender equity bills. Don't fall for the charade.
