Dr. Carlos Eire is Professor of History and Religious Studies at Yale University, where he specializes in the history of late medieval and early modern Europe. He was born in Cuba in 1950 and at the age of 11 he fled to the US without his parents as one of the 14,000 Cuban children airlifted by Operation Peter Pan. He tells his story in his memoirs Waiting for Snow in Havana and Learning to Die in Miami. He is also the author of Reformations: Early Modern Europe and other books.

He currently teaches as Assistant Professor of Patristic Studies at Saint Louis University.
