An increasing number of parents in many countries have decided not to send their children to elementary or secondary school. With this three reasons, I can show you why the parents devote their time and energy to teaching their children at home. Homeschooling, first of all, makes effective use of time. Children who are homeschooled can finish their lessons in four to five hours. In addition, they are able to receive individual attention more easily. Their parent-teachers can see that they are completing their assignments and offer assistance if necessary. After homeschooled students finish their daily assigned work, they then have time to play sports, enjoy hobbies, or continue studying. The second reason is that homeschooling is a good idea for making children and teens become independent learners. With the extra time they have, along with encouragement from their parents, homeschooled students can follow their interests and study subjects more deeply through online reading, library visits or local museum trip. Finally, homeschooling helps young people to develop socially. Being homeschooled students, they can spend a great deal of time with their parents and older relatives who taught them the importance of strong family relationships and showed them how to act maturely. However, it is certainly true to say that being in comfort zone decreases your ability to control unfamiliar situation. Your children will not be able to effectively handle the difficulties as well as the normal school students.  To summarize, homeschooling is not easy and may not be for everyone, but it has certain befits. Indeed, as a parent, I am sure that you will choose the best option for your children as best as you can.

Although some parents don’t allow their children to watch television, I believe that television can be good for families. 
First, television is inexpensive entertainment for families with young children. On a rainy afternoon, if it is too expensive to take the whole family to the movie theater, the family can sit in their living room with bowls of homemade popcorn and watch a movie on television. Second, television can be a good teacher. For example, small children can learn many things such as the alphabet and numbers on children’s programs. In addition, nature programs teach them about our earth and how to care for it. Parents can also use television dramas as a way to start conversations with their children about important ideas. 
Third, television lets children see a bigger picture of the world than their own small neighborhood. Our family cannot travel all over the globe, so the news shows them views of other people and places. The television also brings other cultures into our home through special children’s programs. On the other hands, one cannot deny that television can cause physical problems. According to the study by Gómez Alonso (2002), 17.8% of children who are usually active viewers had spinal bend much higher than children who do not have the habit of watching television. This is due to the seated life that can have the minors because of the television. In conclusion, although some parents are throwing out their television, our family is keeping ours.

Adopting a Pet from the Pound
Owning a pet from the pound or Animal Rescue League has many advantages. 
First of all, a child feels good about rescuing an abandoned or abused animal and giving it a whole new life. Besides, if the animals from the pound are not adopted right away, they might be put to sleep. Having a pet, secondly, also means lots of responsibilities. A child has to feed, clean up, brush, and exercise the pet. This can be an example of setting daily routines for your child properly. Finally, once you adopt a pet from the Animal Rescue League, it will quickly become a part of your family. For example, in case of adopting a cat or dog, both of them can bring lots of happy time to your family, and they can be excellent companions for a person who lives alone very well. In contrast, it is widely accepted that you may be unable to adopt the dog you like immediately. Due to the process of pet adoption, you have to face with answering a lot of personal questions and submitting a lot of paperwork. Therefore, you may be rejected for a pet you want if you miss one of the organization’s requirements. In summary, to carefully consider both advantages and disadvantages is the most important step before adopting a pet from the pound.
