Severe weather chances typically increase in the second half of April, potentially impacting North Texas through mid-June. An active weather pattern is expected to unfold towards the weekend, but Mother Nature will provide a beautiful weather pattern for the remainder of the week.

Monday began with partly cloudy and humid conditions and temperatures in the 60s. This is relatively mild for this time of year. A cold front is expected to move through the area Monday afternoon, bringing cooler temperatures.

The weather has been fantastic for the first part of April and it looks like this beautiful weather pattern will continue at least for the next week.

April is Bluebonnet Month in Ennis. KRLD's Russell Scott caught up with Ennis Chamber of Commerce President Jeffrey Williams to talk about this weekend's Bluebonnet Festival and this year's crop of bluebonnets.

North Texas can expect beautiful weather through at least the middle of next week. Cool mornings and warm afternoons will continue for the foreseeable future. Temperatures started in the 50s on Thursday, but a weak cold front will move through the area, shifting winds to the north and dropping temperatures a few degrees for Friday.
