Police say celebratory gunfire may have put a nine-year-old child from San Antonio in the hospital. They say the child was standing in his front yard and was hit in the leg by a bullet.

Dallas police took over 1,000 calls complaining about gunfire or fireworks over New Year’s Eve. Dallas 911 dispatchers got 759 calls related to celebratory gunfire and 273 calls related to fireworks disturbances.
