American composer/conductor/violinist/violist/pianist and educator Maria Newman has been commended and recognized by the U.S. Congress for her work in the field of music composition, performance, and recording, as well as earning accolades as an Annenberg Foundation Composition Fellow, a Mary Pickford Library & Foundation Composition Fellow, and a Variety American Music Legend.

When it comes to discrimination in the workplace, we've come a long way as a society. But there's still one systemically ignored form of discrimination that happens all the time, and it affects everyone: ageism. Ageism is real. It's widespread, insidious, and up until now, it's been largely hidden, due to the low rate of reporting from those who are pushed out of their jobs when they reach a certain age.

FANDANGO AT THE WALL follows Arturo O’Farrill, maestro Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra founder, and Kabir Sehgal, bestselling author and music producer, as they prepare to record a live album at the U.S.-Mexico border wall. Their project is inspired by the annual music festival called Fandango Fronterizo, which unites people in son jarocho's song and dance on both sides of the Tijuana-San Diego border.

Before recording, Fandango Fronterizo organizer, Jorge Francisco Castillo, takes O’Farrill and Sehgal on an inspiring journey of Veracruz, Mexico, where son jarocho, the 300-hundred-year-old folk music called combining indigenous, Spanish, and African traditions originated. As they travel to the remotest regions of the Veracruz coast, they meet legendary son jarocho musicians and artisans and recruit them for the upcoming festival. Their travels culminate at the annual border celebration, promoting peace, and celebrating unity. From executive producers, Quincy Jones, Andrew Young, Carlos Santana, producers Kabir Sehgal and Doug Davis, and director Varda Bar-Kar, the film introduces the beautiful music of the region through intimate storytelling and captivating concert footage. Dr. Krystal M. Lewis is a licensed clinical psychologist at the National Institute of Mental Health where she works with Dr. Daniel Pine and the Section on Development and Affective Neuroscience (SDAN). She received her PhD from Virginia Tech and completed her undergraduate degree at Lincoln University. Dr. Lewis has worked extensively with anxious children and adolescents, providing evidence-based treatments as well as preventative interventions. She enjoys working with local schools and disseminating information on youth mental health. In addition, Dr. Lewis has contributed to various research projects and considers herself a clinical researcher. Her research at NIH focuses on identifying mechanisms, such as self-efficacy, which impact the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with anxious youth. In addition, she has a small private practice in Chevy Chase, MD. Dr. Lewis is currently the co-chair for the Child and Adolescent SIG and vice-chair for the Early Career Professionals and Students SIG.

A former Disney story consultant, Michael is a screenwriting professor at Chapman University. He has written over twenty books on numerous subjects, including four bestsellers. He recently coauthored Own the A.I. Revolution: Unlock Your Artificial Intelligence Strategy to Disrupt Your Competition (McGraw Hill).
