In this episode of my new series Asian Americans in Sports I bring on my friend Rovee Vanderbilt Pruna to talk about our lives growing up as Asian American and how we came to discover sports. This is near and dear to my heart as someone who wants to work in sports but doesn't see a lot of Asian American representation in the industry. I'm hoping I can bring on many Asian Americans onto the pod to talk about their journeys in the sports industry. Rovee and I cap off the pod talking about Kobe Bryant and what he meant to us and the Asian American community.

My friend Ben Mullen from Sports Business Classroom and I do our catch up pod. The price is on the can though. Rob and I talk about one of our favorite tv shows of all time Atlanta on FX. From talking about funny scenes to going deep into the more profound scenes, we managed to talk for almost an hour about an episode only 21 minutes long. I even learned something life changing in this episode from Rob around the 37 minute mark.

And we back. I couldn't wait until the fall quarter to start recording again. After one week at Sports Business Classroom, I have a ton of things to say and I have a lot of new friends who have a ton of things to say as well. This episode contains heavy discussion on the slow decay of memes, the genius of Mark Cuban, and the cultural phenomenon Bibbity Bibbity Bop.

It's been awhile since my fellow transfer friend Jenn and I talked. I've wanted her on the show since it began this quarter and we finally found time to have her on. We mostly spend the episode catching up and talking about the highlights of our first year at UCI since transferring from the same community college and the challenges we face going forward to next year. It is a critically acclaimed show from FX, known for its variety in storytelling.
