This is our first panel discussion for Kumo's Unfiltered Convos podcast and I'm so excited for you all to listen to this episode. In this necessary and needed panel discussion we talk about colorism and how light skin people benefit from it and how they have a responsibility to center dark skin /brown skin Black people.  

 The Black women , Queer/Non-binary femmes on this panel bring their own perspectives and share their experiences with colorsim which affects dark skin/ brown skin people the most who are mostly discriminated against because of their skin tone. Colorism is literally killing the Black community and though I'm not an expert I believe we in the Black community have a HUGE responsibility to center the most impacted by its deadly harm.   We also touch on light skin privilege / mixed race  privilege ,colorsim and it's  orgin and how it all stems from slavery.

 We touch on the "acceptable Black girl "not having white features and how colorism continues to show up in our community! If you're listening to this episode today, especially if you're dark skin and brown skin and have been taught to hate your beautiful skin and you have non-white beauty standards/ features, I hope this audio love letter brings healing to your inner child!

This weeks guests are Keva & Elijah !

 Keva is an Alabama native who served in the United States Air Force as a Public Health Technician. Since transitioning out of the military she has continued pursuit of her degree in Integrated Public Health and founded her own Holistic Womb Wellness business, Goddessence LLC.

Elijah, the other half of this dynamic duo, is an Ohio native who also served as a member of the military police. Since transitioning out of the military he has begun pursuing his degree in Computer Science and plans to specialize in machine learning. Though their backgrounds and individual goals vastly differ, Keva and Elijah are focused on impacting their community and the Black collective in a positive way all while demonstrating the empowering effects of unconditional love. Brought together by an aligned meeting in the grocery store, they’ve been inseparable ever since and now share a family of four, with number five on the way any day now.

Tap in as they share their love story from where they would see each other around while they were both in seperate  unhealthy relationships and after they both ended their unhealthy relationships an encounter at Sprouts brought them toghether and now they're expecting their first child toghether and are rasing a blened family together.We talk about Elijah's divorce ,unhealthy ex partners and being aligned,doing the inner work and empowering the Black family.
